It is a paper which introduces the concepts of microorganisms which includes virology, mycology, parasitology, bacteriology, immunology and other branches.

Importance of paper:

Microbiology is actively researched, and the field is advancing continuously. Bacteria can be used for the industrial production of amino acids. Various biopolymers, such as polysaccharides, polyesters, and polyamides, are manufactured by microorganisms. Microorganisms’aroused for the biotechnological production of biopolymers with tailored properties suitable for high-value medical application such as tissue engineering and drug delivery.

Pattern:

The paper is divided into two parts : Part A and part B, Part A has three compulsory questions in which one is short answer type , one is short notes type in which there are sub questions and the third question is long answer type. Part B has got three questions as well and the shot notes question carries equal marks for all the sub questions, while the other two are descriptivetype. The paper is so set as to judge the ability of the candidate .It is slightly tough but scoring one.
