Agewise eligibility for Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy Exams?

I am Mritunjay Mishra 3rd year computer science & Technology student. and my date of birth is 17-12-1988.i want to know wheather im eligible for giving the exams of Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy. How i give the examination pls send the process how to join Military Academy ... waiting for the reply............ thanks

Yes you are eligible for Indian Army.

Following is the eligibility Criteria for IMA:

1. Age- 19 to 25 yrs

2. Educational Qualification- Graduation from a recognised university.

3. Marital Status- Un Married/Married

4. Nationality- Indian

5. Duration of training- 49 Weeks

You have two option for joining military:
IMA , NDA

You can appear for this year too and if you want to join after graduation , then you can apply for CDS exam .

Hi friend,

There are many modes of entry in indian military academy. Because

you have started your degree you can enter through one of the following

entry which is for graduates.

Graduates (Direct Entry)

The UPSC holds an all-India competitive examination, known as the

Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE), twice a year for University

graduates or equivalent. Successful candidates can join Indian Military

Academy for their pre- commission training after the interview conducted by

the Service Selection Board and if finally selected, depending on their merit

list ranking, are sent to Indian Military Academy. Candidate should be in the

age of 19-24. The course commences each year in the month of January and

July.

Engineering Graduates (Direct Entry)

An Engineering graduate can join the Indian Military Academy

directly. They only need to attend the Service Selection Board interview. Age

at the time of joining should be between 20-27 years. The course

commences every year in the month of January and July.

University Entry Scheme:

Students who are in final and pre-final years of engineering degree

course can also apply to Indian army as an officer. They are eligible for

induction into technical branches/services of the army as commissioned

officers under the University Entry Scheme. Age should be between 19-25

years for final year engineering students and 18-24 for pre-final year

engineering students. Month of commencement of course in each year is

July. Selection is Based on campus interview and Service Selection Board

(SSB) interview. Applications should be sent in response to the

advertisement published in July.

you are very well eligible for appearing for IMA or NDA now and you will also be eligible after your graduation .......

as you are born in 1990....you are eligible for appearing for nda this year too ......you can also apply for technical entry for army,navy and air force.....

after graduation there is a separate exam sheld for entry in IMA or NDA that is called as CDS .......the minimum eligibility for it is graduation in any field......

so dint worry about age wise eligibility.....prepare well for nda and do your graduation with good percentage.........

Eligibility for IMA and OTA

For Indian Military Academy the age limit is 19-23 years..

For Officers Training Academy the age limit is 19-25 years..

For both the exams you need to be at least a graduate in any stream..

Exam Pattern :-

For IMA the pattern is as follows :-

Subject Marks

English 100 marks
General Knowledge 100 Marks
Elementary Mathematics 100 Marks
Total 300 marks


For OTA the pattern is as follows :-


Subject Marks

English 100 Marks
General Knowledge 100 Marks
Total 200 marks

MY D.O.B is 21.6.89. Im 2010 passed out in Information Tech(engg.) i had an arrear while i studied 2nd year.But i completed the degree wid 73%. In 10th i got 89%. In 12th i got 81%. Am i eligible to apply for IMA or OTA..for 2012 intake? Indian Military Academy and Officer's Training Academy exam is conducted by UPSC under CDS(Combined Defence Service) exam twice every year.

Graduate with minimum 60% marks are eligible to apply for IMA and OTA of CDS.

For Indian Military Academy the age limit is from 19 to 24 years and for Officer's Training Academy the age limit is 19 to 25 years of age.
