Respected sir,
i am a student of 2nd year B.tech(I.T) and my date of birth is 04-05-1987..........
I want to know that whether i am eligible for giving the exams of Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy Agewise as i will passout in 2012 and also if i can give the exams in 2011 itself or not....

look as far as your age is concerned the rule says thet no candidate can apply in IMA or OTA if he/she has crossed 25 years of age but there are various USE entry where you can get selected from your college itself and yes you can appear for the exams in your 3rd year but by the time of joining you must have passed out your graduation.. so if at all you dont get a chance as age wise then dont worry you can certainly apply for the territorial army wing whose age limit is till 35.. hope you must have got the information.. if still doubt persists then you can write to me again and i will provide you entire eligibility conditions .. bye all the very best and i will say keeep applying for CDS and OTA from your 3rd year itself.. bye good luck...

For AFA 19-23 years
For OTA 19-25 years unmarried candidates/25-28 for married candidates

age wise you will be eligible for indian millitary academy exams at the time of finishing your b.tech

i think the eligibility in the indian army and all the exams is upto the age of 25 years and after that you are not being eligible........but if you are sc candidaate then you have more relaxation in the age.........

Respected sir, i am from assam, BORN: I5/11/1987.From my childhood I had only dream and datz INDIAN ARMY, but due to lack of guidance and proper knowledge I was not able to get in the track. hi, i will be completing 24yrs next month n as i was going thru this years admission process it was mentioned candidates born before 2nd jul'1986 cannot apply, it made me eligible for this year thoh i had missed out on d notification. i presume for the next session the age criterion shall ask 4 applicants born after 2nd jul'1987 only...which makes me ineligible as my DOB is 7th oct'1986. but going through your above posts u've mentioned the upper age as 25yrs....could yu pls brief me up about that clause. and till what age can a SC candidate apply for OTA? i havnt found any such relaxation on the official website for indian army

to join in amry, you have to appear and qualify UPSC exam.

through UPSC exam, you can join in Indian army.

the criteria to attain in the UPSC exam is

minimum graduation in qualification with 60% marks.

age limit 21-29 years.
