yes there have Age limit for NDA.

the age limit is 17-19 year.

actually you are right,
age limit for nda is 16and a1\2 to less than 19 .
and according to your application formthis only valid for 16 to 18 age limit .
actually it should be interval; of three year,and now your age is like 18 and three months .then you fill the creteria.
but in application form you are not applicable.
and also you should not be married.
so you can not fill up the form .
so try for others.

Sorry to say but i think you not eligible now because you age exceeds the age limit. There are basic eligibility criteria for NDA.

Nationality :

A candidate must either be :

1. a citizen of India, or
2. a subject of Bhutan, or
3. a subject of Nepal, or

Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status :

A candidate must be an unmarried male and have attained the age of 16 1/2 years and must not have attained the age 19 years on the 1st January or 1st of July of the year succeeding the year of examination.
Candidates must not marry until they complete their full training. A candidate who marries subsequent to the date of his application, though successful will not be selected for training.
A candidate who marries during training shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the Government.

Educational Qualifications :

1. For Army wing of National Defence Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
2. For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course at the Naval Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equilvalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply.

Physical Standards : Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination as per guidelines given :

Candidates are advised to rectify minor defects/ailments in order to speed up finalisation of medical examination conducted at the Military Hospital after being recommended at the SSB. The undermentioned ailments are considered, common minor ailments :

Wax (Ears), Deviated Nasal Septum, Hydrocele/Phimosis, Overweight/Underweight, Under sized Chest, Piles, Gynaecomastia, Tonsillitis, Varicocele

A candidate recommended by the Services Selection Board will undergo a medical examination by a Board of Service Medical Officers. Only those candidates will be admitted to the academy who are declared fit by the Medical Board. The proceedings of the Medical Board are confidential and will not be divulged to anyone. However the candidates declared unfit will be intimated by the President of the Medical Board and the procedure for request for an Appeal Medical Board will also be intimated to the candidate.

Candidates declared unfit during Appeal Medical Board will be intimated about the provision of Review Medical Board.

(a) The candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease/disability which is likely in interfere with the efficient performance of military duties.

(b) There should be no evidence of weak constitution, bodily defects or under weight. The candidate should not be overweight or obese.

(c) The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air Force)

The eligibility criteria required for the NDA exam is given as under. From this you can check that if you are eligible for the NDA exam or not:

Age: 16½ to 19 years.

Marital Status and gender: Unmarried male candidates

Educational Qualification:

The Age limit is that your age must be within 19 years and to sit for this exam you have to complete your 12th or appearing 12th board exam.
This exam is conducted by UPSC.

the age limit is decided by higher authority of government.so it can't be changed by any one.

in defense sector only young officers are required that's why there is a age barrier like this.

prepare for other fields.don't loose your heart.

Eligibility Criteria to join the NDA :-

1) Age :- 16 ½ to 19 years

2) Nationality :- Indian

3) Gender :- Applicable only to men.

4) Educational Qualifications :-
One should have passed their 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics. You can, however send applications during your 10+2, provided you meet the eligibility criteria at the time of joining the Academy.

for nda your should be between 16 and half and 19 however there is some facilities fos sc and st student. they can sit with an age of 21.

since your age does not come within the range of age limits provided...you are not eligible for NDA exam...may be you can try other exam...or else you can try for NDA 2 which will be after 6 months....

as per your age ur lie below the mentioned age. so u have still chance for NDA

Age limit is counted such that the candidate should not cross the age of 19 & 1/2 till the date of commencement of course which is 01 july for every year.


Its also depends upon the NDA exam itself,means the candidates who are not eligible for NDA-II are eligible for NDA-I and who are eligible for NDA-I but are not eligible for NDA-II.

For example you are not eligible for NDA-I because you were eligible for NDA-II which was held on august 2009.

Similarly the candidates who were not eligible for NDA-II at that time were eligible for NDA-I which was held in 2008.

According to NDA admission criteria Indian unmarried male candidates within the age limit of 16 1/2 to 19 years are eligible to appear in the examination
so definetly you are eligible. Last Date for application is 15 November 2011

Yes you are eligible for the NDA exam.The basic eligibility for the NDA exam will be a candidate is not more than 19 years and star from 16 1/2 year old.
A candidate must pass the 12th standard and must be Indian Nationality and unmarried.
You can collect the application form till date 15th november 2010.

for sitting in nda exam the minimum age should be 16 1/2 and maximum 19. if you are willing to apply for the first nda you can look your age upto 1st jan and if applying for second then you can look 1st july . and if your age fits the elligibility criteria then you can give the exam otherwise your form will be cancelled.

I am sorry to say but you are not eligible to appear in NDA.

The age limit for NDA exam is that the candidate must have attained the age of 16 1/2 years and must not have attained the age 19 years on the 1st January or 1st of July of the year succeeding the year of examination.

Since your date of birth is 18-12-1991, it means you are above 19 years of age. o you are not qualified for the NDA exam.

So you have two chances remaining.

You can apply this year and/or next year.

If you miss NDA this year you can apply next year with complete preparation.

1 year time is long enough to prepare for NDA.
