Hi,
the whole criteria is not just to be of 16 1/2 to 19 years old, you just need not to be confuse between the given age limits. NDA has clearly stated that those candidates are not eligible that are born before JANUARY 1993, so just see that whether your date of birth is/not before January 1993. This eligiblity date is likely to be extended for NDA 2( for example it could be June 1993). This is the exact thing, donn't mess up with given age limit. I was also having the same confusion.

Age requirements for the Candidate must fall within the age group of 16-1/2 years to 19 years..

i think you are not eligible for April NDA exam your age will be 19years 2 months ...

If date of birth is 25/02/1992 then you are eligible for NDA examination because in the NDA application form it is given as the age between is 2/1/1992 to 2/1/1994. all the best.

Yes you are eligible because you are at the of near 18 and for nda it is 16 to 19 .you should go for it.

You are not eligible for NDA because your age is more then 19 years.
The Age for NDA is between 2nd january 1993 to 1st july 1995. So you are not eligible for NDA exam.

The eligibility for NDA exam which will held in April 2011 is:

Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July 1993 and not later than 1st January, 1996 are eligible.

So you are not eligible for that.

i got a confusion over the eliibility criterion of nda as it said that candidates who are 16 and a 1/2 to less than 19 can fill up form but i was born on 31-03-1993 and im still not eligible as per the dates given in nda application that is from 02-01-1992 to 02-01-94 , but how could this criterion fit the age limit.

please resolve this problem as soon as possible.

Yes you are not eligible for it.

Age limit is counted such that the candidate should not cross the age of 19 & 1/2 till the date of commencement of course which is 01 july for every year.


Its also depends upon the NDA exam itself,means the candidates who are not eligible for NDA-II are eligible for NDA-I and who are eligible for NDA-I but are not eligible for NDA-II.

For example you are not eligible for NDA-I because you were eligible for NDA-II which was held on august 2009.

Similarly the candidates who were not eligible for NDA-II at that time were eligible for NDA-I which was held in 2008.

The year is counted according to 1992 but you were born in 1991 so you are not eligible for it.

XII with Physics, Chemistry and Maths for Airforce and Navy.

nda age limit is from 16.5 to 19 years,,,as u are now 19.5 years old...so you are not eligible for nda.....

Sorry friend you are not eligible for the N D A exam because its requirement only within 19 years old.

As they are very strict in rules and your age is more only by one day as per their requirement so, you are not eligible for it.

i think you should try for it ,but limitations in age for this exam is authorized by government,and according to them your age is passed

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NDA EXAM:

Age limits, sex and marital status:
Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1993and not later than 1st January, 1996 are eligible

Educational qualifications

For Army Wing of National Defense Academy:
12th class pass of 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent examination conducted by a state education board or a university

For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defense Academy and for the 10+2 cadet entry scheme of the Indian Naval Academy:
12th class pass of the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics, conducted by a state education board or a university

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th class under 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination

Physical standards:
Candidate must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2011 as given in appendix-V of commission’s notice for the examination published in employment news/rozgar samachar dated 09th April, 2011

NDA is conducted twice a year by upsc for apportunities in defence services

NDA age limit is between 16 1/2 to 19 years, they are strictly following this.

it does not matter if you appear in NDA 1 or NDA 2. if you are not falling in this age limit when you are appearing for the exam or training you will be disqualified.

Yes you are not eligible because it depends upon exam either it is NDA I or NDA II...as you are not eligible for NDA I but i sure you are eligible for NDA II
