Sub Inspector of Police examinations is conducted by the SSC (Staff Selection Commission).

Qualification / Eligibility required to join as Sub Inspector of Police are as shown: -

1. Pass graduation in any subject or in any engineering stream from a regonised institute / university.

2. Nationality - Indian

3. Age - 21 Years to 30 Years for General candidates, 21 Years to 33 Years for OBC candidates and 21 Years to 35 Years for SC / ST candidates.

4. Height = minimum 5’ 6″

5. Chest = 32′ (Normal) and after expanding 34'

The qualifications are you must be a graduate from Science,Arts or Commerce stream. with the age limit between 20-30 years.
The upper age relaxation limit must be 32 years for candidates from SC/ST background.

The minimum physical fitness is that you must have a height of 168cms with chest 81-86 cms.
For female candidates the minimum height limit is 152cms with weight around 47.5kg.

These are the minimum qualifications required.

for this post you should be a graduate and also your age should be between 20 and 25. however there are other posts also and the qualification varies with each post.

What if the applicant has not completed 10th or 12th but has done his/her degree through open university? Is the applicant still eligible for applying for SI post? Or is 10th and 12th mandatory?

for joining police as a sub inspector you should have any bachelor degree then you can apply for sub inspector .

The required qulification for the requitement of sub-inspector of police for the police force central or state level is ,

The candidates must have a graduation degree in any strem from a recognised University .

Eligibel Age limit for this is,The candidates should the age between 20 years to 25 years for general candidates.

There are 5 years and 3 years age relaxation for ST/SC and OBC candidates respectivly.

For the post of si a candidate should have complete his gradution0from government recognized university. His/her age should be 21 to 25 years.
However this details should be vary in different state. One should conform this from the vacancy notification.

Introduction:
Sub-inspector post carries pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 in Pay Band 2 with Grade Pay of Rs.4200/. Post of Sub Inspector in SSB and BSF are classified as Group `B Non-Gazetted. Post Sub Inspectors in CISF, ITBP and CRPF are classified as Group “C”. Staff Selection Commission conducts the related exam for entry in Police organisation as a sub-inspector.

Eligibility:
All entries regarding the sub-inspector requires a graduation in any field and for this a person should be between 20-25 years of age.

Pattern:
Generally entrance exam would come in this performa:
1. Paper I
(a) General Intelligence and Reasoning
(b)General Awareness
(c)Numerical Ability

2. Paper II
Subjects - (a) Hindi Language - 100 Marks
(b) English Language - 100 Marks
