when will be the army selection sir ?

what is the minimum height to join army ?

Hi friend,


There are different criteria of height according to the post in Indian Army. if you are applying for Solider GD then minimum height required 170 cm & for Solider Clerk then height required 167cm..
If you are applying for Officer rank post like CDS, NDA, OTA then minimum height required is 157.5 cms..

Some relaxation also given to hilly areas people & Schedule Tribe caste....

There are several entry schemes of Indian Air Force but you have not mention your choice in it so you can check an official website of Indian Air force..............

The minimum height required for Indian Army is 5'2''.(157.5CM).
There are equipments available in the market to increase heights. Also, there are some medicines for that. But there could be some side effects. so, you should better contact some physician first before trying one.

you can join Indian army as a soldier by passing your 10th exam.

for officer you have to pass in 12th.after 12th you can appear for NDA exam.

you can also appear for CDS, UNIVERSITY ENTRY EXAM, OTA etc after graduation.

Career In Indian Army

Mode of Entries for +2 Students passed/appeared students:-

1) NDA (National Defenc Academy).

2) TES (Technical Entry Scheme).

NDA: is conducted by UPSC (http://upsc.gov.in) twice every year probably in the months of april and september, notification for which are announced in employment news.Candidate you had passed class 12 (Any subject) can appear for Army wing of NDA, Candidate you had passed/appeared class 12 (PCM) with at least 60% aggregate can appear for NAvy & AIrforce wings.

Age limit- 16 years- 19 1/2 years.

TES: Candidates who have passed class 12 PCM with at least 70% aggregate can find direct entry to defence after cracking a small entrance conducted by Defence service itself.Notifaca are announced in employment news.

Age Limit: 17 years- 19 1/2 years.

Mode of Entries for Graduates

UES (it has both permanent & SSC scheme): university entry scheme,is meant for all male and female candidates those who have attend there first university degree,that is (Bachelor degree). Notification for it are released In Employment news. Both Short service and permanent service is offered through this scheme.


SSC: short service commission,is ment for all candidates those who have B.sc/M.sc (Physics,radio,electronics,) or B.tech/M.tech (civil,mechanical,electronics,electronics & talecommunication,Aeronautical etc.) with atlest 60% aggregate including all semester.Notification for it are released In Employment news.
Age Limit: 25 years for Bachelor Holders, 27 years for Master holders



CDS: Combined Defence Service Examination (CDSE) is conducted by upsc (http://www.upsc.gov.in) twice every year for entry into all three defence services.
Eligibility criteria is different for all three. For ARMY- graduation in any background,with at least 60% aggregate Age Limit- 25 years.For Navy: B.sc(with Physics and Mathematics) or B.tech/B.E Age Limit- 22 years.For Airforce- B.E./B.Tech,graduate in any decipline with Physics or Mathematics at class 12 Age Limit- 23 years.

You can also enter in there logistic cadre ,the minimum qualification for logistic cadre is B.sc(pcm),BCA,LLB,etc.You have to crack an entrance for it conducted by army,navy and airforce it self.Notifications are released in employment news keep it reading.

For NCC Certificate holder: All the criteria is same, in an addition canidate must have senior grade NCC "B" grade "C" certificate in ARMY wings.

What About Commerce Graduates

CA,ICWA,CWA,BA/MA (LLB) corporate law/general law etc. are recruited by Defence services mainly IAF/Army (sometimes) in there Logistic Cadre/Ground duty (for IAF) and Accounts Branch (For Army) etc..

Eligibilty Criteria: They must be CA,ICWA,CWA,BA/MA (LLB) corporate law/general law etc. with at least 50% aggreagate including all semesters of B.com/M.com,must be medically fit in all respect.

Age Limit: 27 years for CA, BA (LLB) etc. where as 28 years for MA (LLB)before commenment of training.

Selection: selection is based on both written and interview and at last Medical fitness test.

Notification: are released twice every year probably in the month of march and September in Employment News.So keep iot reading.

Valuable Advice: Keep reading Employment News, for being up to date because all notifications are released there at least once in a month. And also because criteria keeps changing slightly.

Salary/Pay/Allowance: Keep reading Employment News, all the Details are given there. According to designation,posting etc.

there is nothing to worry if you do not have NCC certificate and yes commerce students can join Indian Army as the eligibility criteria is you should have done your graduation with 50% mrks in aggregate and the age limit is 22 years.you have to give CDS exam conducted by UPSC and based on the results you will be called for the SSB.you can also join Indain Army through UES entry and you will be directly called for the SSB.

you have not mention your age , because there is age criteria.

the maximum age limit for Bcom candidates to appear in CDS exam is 25 years..

you can join Indian air force by giving the exam of CDS, but there is condition that you

must passed your +2 in PCM group and your age should be less than 25 years while

commencing the course at IMA.

As you are a commerce graduate you are not eligible for the entry officer in indian army and territorial army is also not suitable for you.
The only way out is left to get in through short commission recruitment like sometimes army releases an advertisement of wanting clerks or official paper work person in their canteen. They are titled with MES or any military short entry job.
Do apply in it. Also you can be in touch of your nearest canteen of Army or Airforce. They would probabily have the related information.

yes commerce graduate also can join in indian army. NCC certificate is also not necessary to join in indian army. but it's give some advantage at the time of recruitment and also during the service. but the essential criterion in indian army is you should be medically fit and your age should be less than 26. to join in indian army you may visit the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in or www.indianarmy.nic.in

ASLO you can go for graduation in technical field like b.tech/b.e.
