Placements depend on the college you are from. Also you can apply through the official websites of companies, some companies provide information regarding careers. |

mechanical engineering is a evergreen branch of engineering. the job opportunity and scope is always good for mechanical engineer.
there are so many company which hire mechanical engineer like NTPC ONGC Indian Railway DVC TATA Steel TATA motors BHEL Mahindra etc. also a mechanical engineer may join in software job if he have that potential. also there are scope to serve in indian defense sector. they may join in indian army or in indian navy. the higher study option is also very good. so career and placement for mechanical engineer undoubtedly very good. |

Mechanical graduates have good future.Many Government sector companies recruit mechanical graduates who have a minimum of 65% background in their graduation course.Companies like
ONGC HPCL BHPV Jinadal Indian oil Tata motors Tata steel Mahindra companies the above companies recruit mechanical engineers.YOu can even try out for the MNC's like TCS Infosys Cognizant and other such companies. all the best |

As a Mechanical Engineer you have got many jobs both in the government sector and private sector which you can try out.
First of all you can try out for MNC's like Infosys,IBM,Wipro,TCS,Cognizant,Mahindra Satyam. If your willing to settle as a Engineer from your core side i.e Mechanical then you can try out for the following companies Maryland Mechanical India Pvt. Ltd,BHPV,IES,NTPC,SAIL,ONGC,BHEL,HPCL,Indian oil,Tata motors,Mahindra & Mahindra,Jindal You can even try out for exams conducted by the UPSC like CDS,CSAT,Railways,Forest officers..etc There are even many other companies like Kirloskar where Mechanical Engineers can try out for.You need to maintain an aggregate of around 65% to get settled in a good job from your core side.Its better that you register yourself in websites like Timesjob.com,Monster.com,Naukri.com so that you get updated of the various interviews going to be held all over the country. |

Since your a mechanical student hence courses related to Autocad will help you in a better manner.Since you a mechanical Engineer you can expect jobs in the following sectors:-
Construction, engineering, landscape design, product design and manufacture, naval and aeronautical designer..etc There are many PSU's which recruit Mechanical Engineers.Some of them namely are:- ISRO,BEL,IOCL,BARC,NTPC,BHPV,Steel Plants across India,SAIL,BHEL,GAIL,ONGC..etc Each company has its own recruitment procedure hence if you want to get settled in any of the companies then you need to go through each of the exam separately.The test usually comprises of two stages i.e Written test followed by interview.You can visit each of the company website's for notification details. Some of the Private Sector companies which recruit mechanical Engineers are:- JINDAL,L&T,Hindustan Motors,Tata Motors,Caterpillar,Mahindra & Mahindra..etc Each company has its own recruitment procedure.Some of them keeps a written test all over the country and then select merit students who has to go through the interview.Companies like L&T selects mostly in the form of campus recruits where an Interview is followed by written tests. |

i will be d oly girl in my class of mechanical engineering...if i take it up..so is it worth taking it up...??but the fact is dat i luv the subjects in mechanical engineering...i wnt to pusue it...but i get a lot of negative feedback...dat i mite hv trouble in class gettin along..and dat even for jobs ..males are preffered to females...is it true???plz cud u reply immeadiately..cause i hv gt to decide by today..plz help me...cause ppl r tryin to push me to electronics(suitable for girls sub)...but im nt interestd init...so plz cud u rply nw

this is a great field to enrich your career and there are large openings for mechanical students every year. at the begining of engineering there are three stream civil,mechanical and electrical.after chemical growth in everyday human life then chemical engineering introduced.so obiviously mechanical engineering is a good stream and well prospective stream.

Mechanical Engineering is a very good branch. about job prospects you can be sure that you will get a good job in mechanical engineering sector. As I am a mechanical engineer I can assure you that after doing B. Tech/B.E. in mechanical engineering you will have huge number of jobs, but all depends upon the knowledge you will gain at the time of your study. If you want to go in IT industry then from here too you can go. If you want to go for higher studies certainly after doing M. tech you will have upper hand. If you want to go for research certainly you can go. I think you can take mechanical engineering and focus on studies to gain knowledge. tahnnks |

mechanical engg. has lot of scope in the mmarket, u can get job as a Analyst in machines,Design Engineer,Development Engineer,Engineer Designer, Trainee,Engineering Technician,Engineering Trainee, etc. or u can join defence world like airforce, navy,etc. u can also get job in companies like Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki n many more car companies..!1 Best Luck...!!! |
