Minimum qualification for gate is Bachelor of technology graduate.

With good score you can go for your m.tech or else you can step into companies.

There is no age limit for gate but there exist negative marking.

sir,i have below 60% marks.i can write the exam.

im a btech passout (2010) with 2 more active supplies...if im confident in passing this 2 supplies within 2 years can i write GATE exam in 2013...??

GATE - GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST IN ENGINEERING is an entrance exam conducted by IIT for admission to M.Tech. Courses in IITs and NITs etc.

The candidate must be an Indian Citizen having either appear for the final B.Tech Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University with no age limit is eligible to apply for GATE.

The candidate having completed Master Degree in Mathematics, Science and Spastics is also eligible for GATE.

The minimum qualification required for GATE exam is a B.Tech degree of the stream for which you want to apply for the Masters. For e.g if you want to apply for the Masters of Computer Science i.e. you want to pursue M.Tech in Computer Science then the minimum qualification for you will be a B.Tech degree in Computer Science. Note if you have a B.Tech degree in say Electrical then you will not be eligible for M.Tech of Computer Science. You will be eligible for the M.Tech for Electrical only and no other stream.

After having a valid GATE score you can also apply for the govt jobs of your stream as most govt jobs require a valid GATE score for you to be eligible to sit for those exams.

If you can get a Good rank, say about 100 then you can pursue M.Tech from the IITs, NITs, etc which will be great for your career ahead.

The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear in GATE:

* Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2)/Computer application and those who are in the final year of such programmes.
* Master degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

The examination is of three hour duration with patterns and syllabus varying from paper to paper. The exam is conducted in two modes - offline and online.

what is the minimum percentage in B.E for applicable for giving gate exam..?
i noted that many students are applying forms for gate exam..but very few out of them are qualified..can u say me..what is the reason..except that they do not clear all the subject under their graduation..??

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

This Exam is being conducted once in a year by IITs to give admission for the candidates for M.Tech course.

Here is the minimum qualification required for this Exam.

-Candidates who have completed B.Tech course can give this Exam.

-Candidates who are pursuing final year of B.Tech course are also eligible to give this Exam.

-No upper age limit at all in giving this exam for the candidates.

-There is no limit on the number of attempts for this exam.

The validity of the GATE score card is for 2 years.

If you possess the above mentioned criteria, I suggest you to have good preparation for this exam and crack it.
