There are several colleges such as PSG providing quality education in the direct second year.

dear friend,
You didn't mention that you are a diploma holder or not.
If you are a diploma in CSE then you can apply for direct admission in 2nd year in any college.
Many exams are conducted for admission in lateral entry in 2nd year.
& if you want to take admission directly then you have to go through management quotas seats. And for this you have to meet with officials of any private engineering college.

& if you are not a diploma in CSE , then you can't take admission in 2nd year.
For direct admission in diploma you have to complete diploma first.

There are a lots of colleges in india which offer direct entry in 2nd year & the minimum educational qualification is 3-year diploma (Tech.) or B.Sc with Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics.

First of all you must know what is the defination of "best" in your point of view...In my opinion almost all colleges which provide Good placements comes under A category college...so it hardly matters if you join any college...but remember you have to excel in what ever you do...The world will be at your feet...You can go for D.Y patil college groups or you have large scope for you in orissa...i.e colleges under BPUT or you can move south where there are plenty of good colleges under OSMANIA university or ANNA university which take students directly from 2nd year but yo have to give there state JEE under the laterla entry scheme..

you have to get any diploma with also get 60% marks. so you can aply for the aieee exam and iitexam also.

If u r diploma holder in any trade then u can take direct admission in 2nd year through lateral entry.. U can give the exam conducted by aieee after which u can apply for many colleges in india.. U can get top colleges if u scored well in aieee

want to continue in 2nd year b.tech mechanical engineering in B.M.S. College of engineering.I m ready to face any entrance exam.

Hey its better that you go through IIT/AIEEE/CET so that you get yourself placed in a good college.

But still there are some colleges which provides direct entry under Mumbai University,Anna University.According to me you cannot secure a seat in a good college instead you appear for the AIEEE/IIT/CET.

If you go through these exams then you will get yourself placed in IIT's,NIt's and better colleges through lateral entry but a direct entry without exams is tough.

Actually, I'm Akash Deep Singh secured AIR-1065 in IIT JEE -2008,
and I'd got admission in B.Tech-M.Tech(Aerospace Engg.)in IIT Kanpur.
But due to some family and health problems I'm unable to perform well in my
academics consecutively in 2 semesters so I'd been finally terminated from
the Institute.So, it's my kindly request to you if you could tell me that in which
good engineering college I would get direct admission on basis of my JEE rank
in session 2011. And this time i want to pursue my engineering in Civil Department.

see dear if u prefer direct admission then u cannot get a good collage
try to get collage through entrance test u will get better collage.
