there is no advantage for SC/ST Candidates for selection in N.D.A which is the National Defense Academy, since it is a national level exam and the persons to be selected in this will serve the country and they have a big responsibility on their shoulders. But still irrespective of their caste and creed there is an Eligibility Criteria for selection in the National defense Academy. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA -The candidate needs to be passed in the XII class exams with either of the sides like medical / non-medical / commerce. -the candidate should be of the age b/w 16.5 to 19 years. -for admission in ARMY Wing one needs to have passed just XII class from any stream. -for admission in NAVY and AIRFORCE one needs to have subjects like physics+chemistry+maths. -medical fitness is required. -indian citizenship. -candidates of tibet, nepal, bhutan can also apply. for more visit the official website::::http://www.upsc.gov.in/ hope this helped.............. with regards roknits |

Re: Can SC and ST students get any advantage in NDA?
Hi
NDA stands for the National Defense Academy and it is an entrance exam which is conducted by the UPSC every year to select candidates for the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The Basic Eligibility Criteria's for the NDA are : 1. You should be an Indian National and Unmarried Male Candidate. 2. You must have passed class 12th from a recognized school or state board securing atleast 50% aggregate in it. 3. Your age should be within 16.5 to 19 years. No relaxations 4. You should have studied Maths and Physics is you wish to apply for the Indian Navy or IAF. Now as per your question, I am really sorry to say that no arts student can apply for the NDA exam. Its because it is a science stream exam. However if you have studied arts, then first of all you must complete your graduation in some stream and then later you can apply for the NDA 2 exam. However if you need more information regarding this, Please Click Here to visit the UPSC website. The official NDA 2012 notification would be published in this today. Also you may read EMPLOYMENT NEWS to get more updates. Hope this helps All the best |

There are no special advantages for the candidates of SC or ST category for NDA Exam.
These people will not be given any relaxation in upper age limit or in any other way. They have to possess the same criteria as like other candidates. NDA stands for National Defence Academy. Every year UPSC is going to conduct NDA Exam two times in a year to recruit the candidates into following defence services Army wing Navy wing Air Force wing The complete selection procedure would involve NDA Exam Interview Medical Test You should have completed your 12th class with any of the stream to apply for Army wing. But to apply for Navy and Air Force wings, it is must that you should have completed your 12th class with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects. Candidates should possess an age between 16.5 years to 19 years. Female candidates are not eligible to apply for this Exam. One should be unmarried male candidate to apply for this Exam.
