The GATE exam is different for different branch. You can choose the stream from the list of 21 streams. It will be better if you choose a stream of your qualification. The pattern of the examination is objective type only. There will be a total of 65 questions. The total marks of the GATE test is 100. The duration of GATE exam is 3 hours. You can understand the pattern from the previous years question papers available in various websites.

If we choose the streams which has less competetion like instrumentation and control engineering can we hope better rank in gate with low marks
