Sir actually my ambition is to become a Customs Officer. So please help me in how to join that job and also tell me that what is procedure of that job?

UPSC conducts the entrance exam to recruit custom officers. You can also apply for that to become a custom officer. Custom Officer collects duty on imported-exported goods & also check on entry of restricted goods.

Eligibility For Custom Officer
- You must have passed bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- You should have vehicle license.

- Preliminary Exam
- Main Exam
- Interview

Exam Pattern

Preliminary Exam

Paper I (2 Hours)
General Knowledge & Current Affairs

Paper II (2 Hours)
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Reasoning
- Mental Ability
- English Language

- Candidates who have passed in preliminary exam are eligible to write for Main Exam. Main Exam will consist total 9 papers.
- After qualifying the main exam, You will be called for interview.
- After that, Selection will be made based on final merit list.

To join custom officer you have to appear and qualify in Civil Service examination.

Civil Service examination is conducted by UPSC and the required qualification to appear for examination is candidate must have passed bachelor degree from any recognised university.

The age limit is 21-32 years and relaxation for reserved category aspirants. So, if you have above qualification you can appear for examination. After final selection you will be eligible to join as an officer in custom department.
