NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST (NET)
Pattern for NET exam will be divided in two parts:-- PART A(two and a half hour) There will be 40 objective type questions and Candidates are required to answer any 25 questions. If candidate answers more than 25 questions, only the first 25 answers will be evaluated. All questions shall be of 2 marks each. and there will be negative marks for each wrong answer.. Syllabus:---

CSIR-UGC NET Life Science Syllabus !!!
This Exam consists of subjects as given under: 1. Chemical Sciences, 2. Earth Sciences 3. Life Sciences 4. Mathematical Sciences 5. Physical Sciences Syllabus/Pattern of the Exam The question paper shall be divided into three parts, (A,B & C) as per syllabus & Scheme of Exam.
Refer the Attachment for Life Science Syllabus. Date of Single MCQ examination Is on 19th of June 2011 Note* Date of Sale of application Started from 01 March 2011.

CSIR-UGC (NET) EXAM FOR AWARD OF JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTURERSHIP:
Question Paper Pattern: There will be one paper instead of two from this year onwards.The paper will consist Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs). *The MCQ test paper of each subject shall carry a maximum of 200 marks. *The exam shall be for duration of three hours. *The question paper shall be divided into 3 parts *Section 'A' will be common to all subjects.It will be a test containing a maximum of 20 questions of General Science and Research Aptitude test. The candidates shall be required to answer any 15 questions of two marks each. The total marks allocated to this section is 30 out of 200. *Section 'B' will contain subject-related conventional MCQs. The total marks allocated to this section is 70 out of 200. The maximum number of questions to be attempted shall be in the range of 25-35. *Section 'C' will contain higher value questions that will test your knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions will be of analytical nature where you are expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem. The total marks allocated to this section is be 100 out of 200. I have attached the syllabus along with the notification and important dates for your reference. |

Please find the attached Life sciences syllabus......... CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) for Junior Research Fellowship and Lecturer-ship SCHEME OF EXAMINATION:LIFE SCIENCES The Joint CSIR-UGC JRF/LS (NET) Examination shall comprise 2 papers: PAPER I: This paper shall be of 2 hours and 30 minutes duration and shall have a maximum of 200 marks. Part ‘A’ of Paper I shall contain 40 General Science questions. These questions shall be common to all subject areas of NET Examination. A candidate shall be required to answer a maximum of 25 questions from Part ‘A’. In case, a candidate answers more than 25 questions, only the first 25 answered questions will be taken up for evaluation. Part ‘B’ of Paper I shall have 100 questions. A candidate shall be required to answer a maximum of 75 questions. In case a candidate answers more than 75 questions, only the first 75 answered questions shall be evaluated. All questions shall be of two marks each. There will be negative marking for wrong answers. PAPER II: This paper shall be of 2 hours and 30 minutes duration and shall have a maximum of 200 marks This Paper shall consist of 39-45 short answer type questions requiring descriptive answers. To answer each question, a candidate will be provided one page each. There shall be one compulsory question of twenty Marks. In addition to the compulsory question, the candidate is required to answer a maximum of 15 questions of twelve marks each . |
