The Licentiate Paper of consists of questions based on the practice of Life Assurance. The examination is conducted for the Job vacancies in some of the leading Insurance Companies. The paper outlines some of the basic points of insurance services and tests the understanding of the candidates.

Importance of paper:

This paper is very important as the topics covered in the course are necessary for healthy insurance practices and services provided to the customers. The paper also helps in increasing the skills and gives them a platform to test their practicability.

Paper Pattern:

The question paper consists of 10 questions in all.Questions are of subjective kind and only 8 are needed to be attempted. Questions are further subdivided each carrying equal marks.All the questions carry equal marks except question number 1 which is of 16 marks while all other questions carry 12 marks. There is no negative marking, so students should attempt all the questions.

Questions in the paper are such as special report on sum assured, Importance of meeting Gratuity Liability, Importance of Prospectus in Life Insurance Business, definition of foreclosure Necessity of term Assurance Plans, immediate and deferred annuity, days of grace and claim concession, facts of common knowledge need not to be disclosed, Rider Benefits, 1st premium receipt is the evidence of commencement of risk, assignment of life policy, important provisions regarding issue of duplicate policy, GSLI and SSS, various options available to a policy holder in respect of his lapsed policy, single premium policy, money back policy etc.

Time and marks:

The paper is set for a total of 100 marks and the maximum time to be given to the candidates is 3 hours.

    Please Kindly clarify/specify the Paper 1 (III) Principles of Insurance Licentiate exam dates held in may 2012.

    Please kindly clarify & guide regarding fees structure, registration , number of marks, whether MCQ style questions, number of hours of exam & total number of exam days.ie if more than 1 day etc?

    Please kindly note I have already appeared for Paper 1 Licetiate exam in October2011.
