what are the different entrance exams for M.Tech. courses in biotechnology in india's top technical universities?

For doing M.Tech you need to write GATE and eligibility for this is B.tech or equivalent degree.

First you need to write GATE and based on that you will get admission into different colleges.

Biotechnology offered at Anna University, Chennai & Jadavpur University, Calcutta.

the entrance examination for M.Tech in Biotech is GATE.

appear in GATE entrance examination to take admission in M.Tech in Bio-technology. if you can qualify GATE then you will get chance to take admission in good institution as well as you will be eligible to get a stipend for your study in master degree.

so appear in GATE and take a very good preparation before appearing in GATE examination.

Hey for entrance into top universities like IIT's and NIT's you need to qualify for the GATE.

You can get admission into good institutes after completing your B.tech course.You can even go for entrance tests conducted by Universities like VIT,Amrutha institute,SRM university which are UGC approved.

So even write competitive exams conducted by Universities like VIT,SRM and other such Universities.

JawaharLal Nehru University conducts combined Biotechnology Entrance Exam for admission to various Postgraduate programmes and M. Tech in Biotechnology is included in it.
Around 3 -4 universities offer MTECH admission in Biotechnology through this examination.This universities includes,
Anna University, Chennai; Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi & West Bengal University of Technology,Kolkata.

The dates for this exam are(TENTATIVE)-:Please check the link for more informationswww.jnu.ac.in

Date of Issuing of Application Form: From 1st February to mid March 2011.

Last date of submission of completed admission brochure: mid of the month of March,2011

Date of Combined Biotechnology Entrance exam: 3rd week of the month of May,2011.

The application form can be obtained directly from any of the participating universities or by post from JNU by sending a request for form along with a demand draft.Indicating clearly the name of the programme.



You can even get admission in M.TECH(biotech) in top Indian universities through the GATE exam.If you can score good enough than you can get admission in the IITs or in the NITs.

So in order to crack the GATE exam you will have to be well prepared because it is not the easiest of the exams.

thank you ..priyanka ji...but actually i want to know that the name of good institutions those are conducting their own separate exams for the entry in the respective institutions.for example-
is shastra and VIT conducting any such exams?

If you want to do M.tech in biotechnology then i advise you to appear in GATE exam. If you qualify the GATE exam then you can take admission in a good institution. If you get good rank in gate then many college offer you a scholarship. So do well.
