The NDA exam is basically conducted for recruitment in all three wings of Defense Forces of India:

• Indian Army
• Indian Air Force
• Indian Navy

Being a candidate from Arts Stream, you won't be eligible to join Indian Air Force as well as Indian Navy but will be eligible to join Indian Army.
The minimum eligible age to apply for the exam is 16 years 6 months and the maximum age limit is 19 years.
This age limit is applicable to apply for any of the defense forces after qualifying +2 level of exam.

Yes, with 12th std pass you are eligible to appear in NDA exam.
NDA exam is the exam conducted by UPSC to choose best persons for taking a role in Indian Defense Services. To appear in NDA exam you must have cleared your 12th std and your age must be above 19yrs and below 21yrs. But if you wish to join in Indian navy or Air force through this exam you must have taken science as your stream.

Thus with 12th arts you can join in Indian Army through this exam. But not in Indian navy or air force.

Yes you can join N.D.A after passing 12th with arts stream.
For this you have to qualify the National Defence Academy(N.D.A)
After qualifying the N.D.A exam you will get commission in Indian Army only.

You are not eligible for Indian Air Force or Indian Navy.

N.D.A exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.

After qualifying N.D.A exam you can join Defence services like:-
> Army
> Air Force
> Navy

Eligibility criteria:-
> Pass 12th with recognized university
> Age limit:-16.5-19 year.
> Must be citizen of India
> Medically fit

NDA exam is conducted twice in a year.
This exam is conducted through upsc.

After +2 science the candidates can only apply for NDA exam nor any other.

After 12th or after graduation you can join Indian Navy.As you are a diploma graduate then you are also very much eligible for Indian Navy.See you have to take information from different newspapers and websites when the vacancies of Navy will come and according to this you can apply.
You can also apply for NDA. There generally two examination are held for NDA, one is NDA-1 and another is NDA-2.You can also attempt both this two exam.

NDA - National Defense Academy.

It is an entrance exam conducted by the UPSC every year to select candidates for the selection of the various officers in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.


The Basic Eligibility Criteria's to appear in the NDA are :


1. You should be a minimum 12th pass in Science stream from a recognized school or state board with a minimum 50% aggregate.

2. Your age should be between 16.5 and 19 years.

3. You should be physically fit.

4. Physics and Maths are compulsory subjects if you are applying for the Indian Navy or IAF.


So in reply to your query, I am really sorry but an arts student cannot sit for the NDA 1 exam as per the eligibility criteria.

However you may complete your graduation in any stream and then you may sit for the NDA 2 Non Technical exam.

Sorry to say that you are not eligible for NDA exam because you have completed 12th standard from arts department.

Educational Qualification-

You must have completed 12th standard with physics, maths, chemistry.
You must have secure 60% marks in 12th.

Age criteria-

The age should be in between 16.5-19years.
There is no age relaxation for SC/ST , OBC criteria.

NOTE:-
