Guys.. I don't think anybody here has ever seen a ship..If you want to
Join Indian navy you have to pass NDA or CDS for officers wing.
For going in merchant navy you have to do deck cadet course
Than do 18 months onboard training..Then pass 2 nd officers exam..
In both fields going in other ranks than officer is useless..
For both indian/merchant navy to be a Capt of the ship you have
To join navigation branch..Indian naval ships are smaller in size compared to
Merchant ships.. So vessels rolling is less on merchant ships..So if less rolling
Than no vomiting.. Bigger the ship better in sea.. So merchant navy
Has advantage here.. They have big ships.. Salary is 10 times more than Indian navy..
Capt of merchant oil/ chem tankers earn a good 8 lakh per month tax free..
Many Capt have become ship owners also and are business tycoons now..
Promotion is faster in merchant navy compared to Indian navy..
You become Capt in 8 years as compared to Indian navy which takes 16 plus years to be a Capt..

Merchant navy captain salary 8 lakh per month tax free
One becomes a Capt 8 years of service. You are on a big ship so less rolling
So smooth sailing .. No vomiting..
Indian navy captain salary 60000 per month taxable.In Indian navy
It takes 16 years plus selection grade to be a Capt.your ship size very small so heavy rolling.. Vomiting daily when sailing..
So guys you choose your lifestyle because both are mariners
And there real life is in sea .. Sailing..

Dear My All Friends,
In this question every person would be different different perception, but as per my perception Indian Navy i will prefer why because, In this we work for nation not for self only. and it is prestigious job and Indian Navy provide many facility with job, like Government flat for residence, child education expenses, can purchase daily use product without tax.
So, Finally on the basis of aforesaid text could say that Indian Navy is more better than Mechant Navy.

If someone want to self defense then Merchant Navy, and if someone want to work for nation then Indian Navy is good,
and as per my perception we should work for whole nation so we should choose Indian Navy.

I don't know ,speculating ,but most of the people posting here are either illiterate or they aren't humans at all....what kind of person would try to draw a comparison between ,merchant marines and Indian navy ....and reply would be ,offcourse an insane one ....well none of these people can ever clear their way to Indian navy or merchant marines ...may god have mercy on you..

I would be joining merchant navy this year but I personally think indian navy is better. Though the pay is not as high but still sufficient keeping in mind the other perks govt provides. I tried but didnt clear my ssb . but if you can live away from your family for long periods and want to earn high merchant navy is the option for you.
