Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
India's education system is good. It should be modified a little to make it better. There some problems in the system.
-industrial exposure for the students so that they can learn the implementation also. -equal priority to all irrespective of reservations so that every eligible candidate can get a chance -improve the quality of the institutions -encouragement to the students may be increased in the form of scholarships e.t.c. -increase in the employment opportunities. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
Quote:
This is a very interesting topic for me and i love to answer it I think the problem is not in the system, it is in the manner its implemented. For example most of the colleges( Engineering) take their students for Industrial visit, which is mainly treated like a picnic. I have many friends in local colleges, who say they have enjoyed the trip by having done sight seeing. I dont think there is much difference in the teaching in IIT's and normal colleges, unless the professor is bunking classes. The difference comes in the practical part of the education. Infact our Indian education level is far better and higher than world's top most countries like USA.but our systems is not good.In USA the syllabus untill 12 grade is of very lower level. The students are not capable of doing simple calculation without using calculator or computer. Whereas our average indian student is far better than average american student in mathematics. Not only this but our college/university courses are also designed so nicely to cover every possible need of particular field. Then why world's best universities are mostly in USA. This is where education system plays an important role. The education system means the way we deliver or serve education to our future generation. Let's have look at education system in both countries. In USA right from their school level they are given space in their study. This means they are free to choose some courses they are interested to study apart from main subjects. In India we also have the similar thing in some schools but still the students are forced to focus on main subjects by teacher/family/relatives/friends and after 10th grade we have to decide either science or commerce or art or whatever stream that becomes permanent symbol of a student. In USA generally no matter what you studied before, if you want to join or learn about totally new field you are interested in, you can do by completing some extra course to have some basic knowledge of the particular field. Many students in USA do this. The biggest benefit is you are doing something you are interested in now. In Indian system, mostly the students have to cram to get good score because of such kind of requirement by teacher/educational board. The lectures/periods are delivered by professor and it's done, no active involvement of students in the class discussion. Our exams tend to be very lenghty, descriptive and ditto textbook required that make students cram the text and worry so much. As per American system, the students are required to discuss in the class, make a presentation in the class and work in a group project kind of things. They can also come up with the their own ideas for their part of work. They can do genuine argument with their professors too. Their total grade evaluation is fairly distributed among all these class activities and sometimes final exam. This exam is also of short time also covering main points of the subject and you can write in your own technically correct words. These people generally never tend to copy or cheat in exams and less concerned about grades in exams. Because of these certain reasons, these people can understand the concept and think of doing further. This is why they can invent new technology, new weapons, new techniques of carrying out different things in practical life and make county develop faster. In India this is the reason why students show less interest in doing innovative scientific and technological research. Ultimately we have to buy those technology from other countries by paying 10 times price. You see the developed countries like US, Canada, European countries, Australia, NZ they all have developed their own technology to grow up faster. In Asia, Japan is the best example for us. We will have to develop our own technology by our own scientists to become developed country as fast as possible. Thanks |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
well the answer is yes....
we need some changes as there is still lots of pressure to students from parents and teachers to perform well in examination like 10 d 10+2..... I felt very happy when former HRD minister Mr. KAPIL SIBAL declared some months back that writing 10 exams shall become a optional for students and shall be only compulsory to those students who wants to change their school after 10.. that was great step by him... similarly there are many small changes that need to come in our education system so that it can be perfect one day....... |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
Hi,
Yes I strongly support this statement saying that Indian system of education needs to be changed because i have found out that education system is fully based on theories rather than practical. As there is a saying also "Practice makes man perfect",therefore the system of education should also give some importance on practical based education rather than concentrating more on theories. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
Hi...
The education system is not bad... But some changes can make perfect... For example more written works than thinking or innovative works... If the innovative works will do it in practical way students can understand clearly... Overall this system is enough... Thank you... |

Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
India's education system is not the best but also not bad. India's education system needs some improvement:
# reservation seats should not be there # selection should be merit- based # selections should not be based on recommendations #all equipment for library and laboratory should be there in all schools and colleges Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
The education system means the way we deliver or serve education to our future generation. The difference comes in the practical part of the education.
ndia's education system is not perfect, although some changes would make it good * Efficient teachers should be chosen. * Reservations should not be there, so that deserving students do not have to repent for it. * There should be more of scholarship programmes. Also, the poor people would get some help. All these measures should be taken by the government. But, schools, individually, too need to take some steps. * Teachers should not force the students to study. They should develop in them a love for studies. * Any failure should notweaken the confidence * The lectures should be made interesting. * Teaching through models, visuals and experiments should be encouraged. * Teachers should teach in such a way that students can understand it and not merely study for exams. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
first of all i would like to spot light on our school education system. our schools should focus impartially on sports and extra curricular activities as much they are working for studies this will improve our education system from every corner
and now talkin about reservation system we should remove this obsolete rule from our democratic country if they really want to benefit students than a new ruling system should be introduced in which reservation should be valid for those students who are financially poor and not able to pay for there education. so that everyone can touch the sky of success without any hurdles. |

Mark system should be thrown out.
Syllabus should be updated very often. Teacher should know many things. They should update about the current innovation. More flexibility for students are necessary. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
Yes, I think need few changes of India's education system. There should not be
donation system in private school. due to reservation there has not been found real talent.peoples have to spend lots of money for getting higher education. There are not good school and not any facility In villeges. In villeges Teachers do not understand their responsibility. Today A poor person can not studying his child in a reputed school and colleges. Goverment is not fully attention on the education. Today every students are being litrate but due to weak education system, lots of students have not got good job.So my point of view need some changes in this system. |

in india, most of the importance are given to marks than talent...
so,many talentees get hidden in this... and also most of the scholarships are based on marks...so it must be changed to knowledge basis... everyone should be encouraged to do own project in order to give light to many dream projects.... many selection should be changed to the interview basis... regards <yogi> |

The indian education should adopt american system of education because of its ability to bring out the best in an individual. also the individual can select subjects of his/her own choice and not get de-motivated by studying something which he is not interested in.

The most changes need to do is to change the pattern of the syllabus.we know that in india the syllabus maker give stress on theory only.they should give stress to practicals also. From school level students should be taught every topic using practicals. They should provide some optional subject which will be selected by the student where they have more interest. |

India's education system is good, but few changes make it best. In our education system there are lots of theory but less no of practical ,but practicals are more important than theory.
I think that if something should be changed in our education system then it will become best. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
India education system is not bad it is better but few changes are made in our education system . In india there are lot of arts college and engineering institution are came .
If you see government college and schools class is not perfectly take by teacher and teacher is not legally qualified for the job . because of the corruption there become a teacher of the schools or college .it reduce the quality of the education . it will be change . if you see in private college the management will give raise the fees structure it will affect the bright student in a poor family . at the time admission the management will get money to the candidate and make admission . so the merit student will affect . and result of the college or schools will decrease In india education system is to adopt practical knowledge to the student because apart from of the theory paper ,practical knowledge is more value . |

hmmm....when we say dat its ok.....n need only little cahnge i dnt completely agree to it....we are talking about those students who are exposed to a good educational environment.
However, India continues to face stern challenges. Despite growing investment in education, 25% of its population is still illiterate; only 15% of Indian students reach high school, and just 7% graduate, along wid these will b some dropouts.......WHY SO? is question mark....but v all knw the answer to it......A CHANGE IS NEEDED.....A BIG CHANGE OFCOURSE... I would just share a peice of experience of mine....in dis regard im teaching in an international school.....wher in d head of d school has strictly askd us nt d chalk n talk alon....but to incorporate techniques to mk d teaching interesting....v r nt in hurry to finish d portion bt to mk d subject interestin bcoz v realise dat d subject becums borin nt bcoz of the diffe=iculty level bt bcoz of d way it is ut.....in the present india students r forced to learn...mugup things.......let them learn without fear............let teachers teach wihtout the fear of finishin the portion....... |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
In these days education is only looking for the rich people. In now a days the education is very dependent on to money. all the rich people teach their children to the high level institutes by giving big money.
The donation system is coming to this education. people who have money can study their children. but what for the poor. education has made as the business for the polititians. For further information you can watch the"AARAKSHAN" movie. there is a main reason for the inconsistency of education is reservation. Education will be same for every one so why this all reservation in this? This question is known to every one bur nothing is done for the solution. so this can prove that education system needs changes. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
well, i do believe our education system is good, but a certain changes will surely make it one of the best education system.
1)I believe its not recruitment of the talented teachers that will bring about the change, but the very same teachers should have dedication, irrespective of a goverment school or a private school. 2)I believe in the syllabus lies the crucial problem. To have so many education boards like ICSE, CBSE, state etc. is not necessary, because ultimately when it comes to choose a career in an individuals life its purely based on the entrances, where these entrances purely depend on their respective boards. for example for AIPMT its the CBSE board and for CET its the state board. y cant v have one single board at the centre.? Having even education will be a lot fairer in this competitive world... 3)lastly the number of seats available in each college is quite low. Looking at the competition now maybe its time v consider the appropriate ratio of seats for the respective fields and profession. |

I noticed that the main thing require for a good job in india is good percentage. Its not the correct thing. We should support the knowledge first. So which help for india to be a good education nation. Yeah a lot of change has to be brought in India's education as far regarding the info and regular experience as a student,we are far back when compared to other countries as we are back in technology and many more,in education the books which are covered by schools and colleges are old version of other countries as they are going ahead of us.THIS SURELY HAS TO BE CHANGED...
