Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
hmmm actually our system is fine but not up to the mark. There has to be some improvements to be made in this system.
few of them are ->reservation- it is so evident in our system that even if you deserve a seat in a good institution you just loose it to a candidate not that eligible just because of reservations.I think Government can adopt a better strategy than reservation, may be some sought of financial help o so. ->the number of national institutes must be increased. ->the quality of teaching staffs should also be increased. Some colleges have teachers just for name sake, whereas they are not at all adept in their respective fields. -> Interference of politics into education stream must be totally stopped. well these are few areas of consideration,if slight amendments are made then our system will rock |

Quote:
Some drawbacks are: 1.Teachers are not available in sufficient number. 2.High level education suffering from reservation. 3.Many Villages are still without schools. 4.Good school asking for huge donation which is not under control. 5.Politics is entered inside school. 6.Govt. school teachers are not giving their 100%. By action against such acts can improve indian education system. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
well...it surely needs changes..!!
- reservation should be removed !! because of caste system deserving students are loosing their seats..! - the ssc curriculum has not been upgraded from like ages.... i studied what my mother had !! -the syllabus(intermediate) has a few topics which should be learned during professional studies....for example whats the need to know about flemmings right hand rule in physics ?? instead some gk and current affairs related topics should be introduced -physical fitness , co-curricular activities should also be given weightage for an over all development of students -practicals , projects should be encouraged so that students take intrest in studying , in short learn through play !! - schools and colleges must concentrate on giving shape to a better , highly knowledged humans rather than attempting to make butifying machines !! -there still are loads of children out ther working (child labour) , govt should make sure that such children should study atleast till 10th (as per the law they made ) -increasing the no. of schools in villages and national institutes for higher institutes. but the best part is if such changes are actually made then every student out there would die to get a student visa so as to study in our mother land ... |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
Ofcourse, It needs a lot many changes.
Our Indian education system is basically memory based rather than knowledge based.. So whoever can memorise the answers well they are able to succeed.. And the other issue is RESERVATION... a person, inspite of having knowledge and eligibility loosing so many oppurtunities due to reservartion..Government has to consider this issue and see that nobody should get injustice... Practical knowledge is also much essential right from the schooloing age... One has to know why they are studying NEWTONS LAWS,BOYLES LAW,TRIGONOMETRY and where exctly these are useful in real time.. Then students can get interest in stiudies if they are practical... |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
According to my openion, the education system in India is not bad at all. We are progressing day by day only after getting indian education. There is one thing wrong in our education system that is reservation system thats why brain-drain is happening among indian. After getting good education skillful person go to abroad for getting good salaried jobs. India must think upon this matter seriously so that skilled persons get jobs as per their abilities and capabilities and work enthusiasticaly for the development of the country.
With regards have a nice day....., |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
Indian education system must require change as money become a essential part of it. Large number of people in india are below poverty line and they cannot pay such huge amount in educatoin.
Due to this reason most of the student leave study upto 10th class. On the other hand higher education in india is one of the best in the world indian technical. India technology is on 4th spot in the world. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
Definitely yes, India's education system needs lots of improvements. In whatever it means India has the highest talent among the whole countries, but education system in India is ruining these talents and making them like donkeys, if you have seen 3 idiots for ex.
Presently in India the education is such way that all the minds do not get together to create a good climax. The teachings are not encouraging, all the subjects are dumped infront of a student to study with uneducated knowledge and without interest. Education is growing rapidly but quantity wise and with least quality with large rate of returns. For a better education it would be advisable or suggested that: @ Apart from just infrastructure being best, the quality of lectures and teachings must be the best. @ The teachings must be appreciable as well as encouraging. @ Students must be provided with all the facilities in which subject they are interested in so that he/she gets interested in doing research works. @ Students must be left to their own premises without any barrier so that they have all the rights to expand their knowledge on their interest and get the best result. @ Rules and regulation must be clear as well as these rules must not be related to marks or scores of the regular subjects of the student. @ They should encourage for flawless activities with full support. @ And after these, it would make the best college or school. |

yes of course, because our nation is a developing nation and also there should be some changes in the education system like making our students to be more practical oriented than bookworms. also giving some training on various platforms and boosting the talents of the students from their childhood itself may mold them into a better person in future.

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
Yes, there are little faults in our education system which needs to be changed/improved. frankly speaking "we are confined with marks ".it means we are confined to just theoretical marks. a student who had secured good marks is considered good and which fails are considered poor. it is infact an injustice to the students having practical knowledge but fails to write on paper. in real life when we get job , practical knowledge is needed. so we should have to add the importance of practical knowledge in our education system. also reservation on the basis of caste should be banned and help in terms of fee concession should be given to poor students.

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
The present system is not bad but even i can't tell you that the education system is perfect. It certainly need's some changes.
I have seen people lying behind my marks but getting themselves into good colleges. So,the reservation system must be changed.Admission to colleges or government jobs should be done on the basis of merit neither than reservation. Schools should be set up in the rural areas, Better facilities, infra structure must be provided in government schools and colleges. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
What i believe is that a lot of changes are required in the education system... people are getting admissions on the basis of reservation, status, money etc whether it is a school or college (from nursery to post graduation) where as the person who deserves to be there who has no money is sitting outside waiting for his admission, waiting if any seats are left vacant so that he can go on with his/her studies. apart from this the condition of some govt. schools are worst, there is not even proper sitting arrangement for students,.
the first thing we should do is admissions should be done on the basis of merit.people should be aware of importance of education in ones life, our govt. as well as ourselves should take necessary action to improve the level of education.there should be no discrimination on the basis of caste, status, reservation etc.. padega India tabhi to badega India |

Ya iam satisfied with the education system in India and i believe that it will need some changes anyway.
Giving licenses to the number of colleges as the recognition to deemed universities who did not fulfill all the eligible requirements for to become deemed universities. And at the same time giving more number of seats to colleges instead of limited. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
All,
The Indian education system is very poor. lets start from school. After 10th class, in 11th you can get a shock after looking at the syllabus and burden on a child for preparing for an entrance. During college a lot of exposure is done on theoretical studies rather than practical knowledge and industries demand only practical knowledge. So these are the two places where we need to change drastically. |

yes indian education system needs changes as in todays era there are many technical as well as non technical institutions are there people are just getting degree very easly so i can say getting degree is not great isue but having knowledge among with degre will improve one self as well as country
so there may be vocational training centers as large as possible which should provide industrial knowledge and technical implemention in correct approach.. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
Not totally but slight changes will definetly make us improve our system
like for example take engineering of jntu which is the best syllabus among the world for papersake we can say this and feel proud but actually what happens is the students of this university take these exams light because the theory of this syllabus is very impractical for the present situation or we can say it as very very old stuff there is some signs of changing the syllabus they are adding the syllabus actually but not solving the problem of the students of this university they are not actually observing the problem of the student so this is the thing what a student will expect in his course time so this makes all change in system doesn't involve in changing the syllabus changing the approach of the subject is all that will matter so my suggestion is that the approach to the subject is most important and by doing this the student will develop interest on the subject so that he can concentrate more on the subject and achieve a lot in the field practicals are most important in the course whatever we study so finally i want to say is not changing the whole syllabus but change in way of approach to the subject is needed in our system this is all thank u for reading my post this is my opinion thanks for giving me such a lovely opportunity.... |

Though my answer get only 7.50% votes but I know that it is right-"Its perfect".Yes,India's education is perfect as India is a developing country and this education system is meant for both type of students-rich & poor. The need is to change not in the system but in the students as if all the students give their little contribution in the system to make it perfect then definitely India get success to enroll the maximum no: of foreigner students to impart not only the bookish knowledge but also the love, emotions & culture of the society.

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
INDiAN EDUCATION SYSTEM IS ON ITS DOWNWARD SPIRAL.....
HERE'S WHY... 1) WE HAVE QUANTITY BUT NOT QUALITY. 2) MANY PREFER TEACHING FIELD AS A LAST RESORT. 3) EVALUATION OF A STUDENTS KNOWLEDGE MEARLY BY WRITTEN EXAMS MUST BE CHANGED (Everything from communication to decision making skills must be evaluated) 4) ALL THE STATES EDUCATION TILL HIGHER SECONDARY SHOULD BE CENTRALISED AND LOOKED UPON BY THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT (This will ensure a same standard across india) 5) IN A NUTSHELL TODAY'S EDUCATION PROVIDES OUR COUNTRY WITH COMPUTERS THAT CAN STORE HUGE AMOUNTS OF DATA WITH OUT ACTUALLY KNOWING WHERE TO USE THEM. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
Indian education system for sure needs some important changes.
In India most of the institutions barring some never provide quality education. They are rather focussing more on the profits. Here in India, mostly we follow theoritical based education but along with it practical based education too should not be ignored. Most of the institutions provide spoon-feeding education which never helps the students in the long run. Nowadys, every now and then new institutions are started lacking the required facilities to provide standard education. The government should look into these matter before it gets very late. With few changes our INDIA can achieve the perfect education system therby paving the way for the quick growth of our country. |

hi
the biggest change that Indian education system needs is that reservation on the basis of cast system should be abolished and it should be given on basis of economic status , also the real bright students should be given scholarships and also more emphasis should be laid on research. in India almost every one wants want to be an engineer or an doctor this mentality should be removed and people should start thinking about other fields also |

Hi,
I wont say it is best but it is not bad too. Education in India is very good compared to different parts of the world. Thats why people from outside India come and study. In the other way, it tortures students so much because of the unnecessary works. Such things should be change and we should remember that politics and corruption should not come in the education. Thank you |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
Dear Friend
Yes, we think that Our Education system was not too bad, Its Good, But some Changes are required to make it effective. The Teacher in Government schools was not good, So, if government school teacher will changed and recruited Talented Teacher, then the students will perform better. So, the government schools system was not good, If Some changes were made in Government schools, then Our education system was good. In private schools and colleges, the teacher was good. So, the changes were made in Only Government colleges and schools. So that students will perform well and attend the classes. And some Restriction was imposed on Private colleges. Because in now a days Manny colleges were open and students will get Frod degree. So, Few Top colleges was opened. So, that students will get best Degree ad make its future bright. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
It all matters about learning the subject. There will be huge syllabus and we should go on read and sometimes it is like a test to our memory power. the lot things to be remembered and the people who represent it will gain heavy marks. and coming to application of the subject I dont find many of us know. So, from the childhood onwards he/she has to know about our culture, custom, mythology, regarding Purana,Upanishads, Bhagavathgita slokas , moral values.
so, what little bit we read the practical application should be known and the unnecessary topics should be removed |

a positive change is always required for the betterment of society,i personally think due to my experience that in some cases where it become important to have practical knowledge, our course line advices us to be bookish,,i think its only students which have to come first,,and stand for this,,even if a institution is giving a bookish knowledge,,we can ourselves use internet and, make a better change..but i think reservation quota,,and some tough papers having more then syllabus must be changed

Well the current education system is defenitely changing with class X board being optional and introduction of grading systems,,and lot more changes are required like the system of education must be practical based rather than theory based..Educational tours must be introduced for young children and communication skills must be developed in the school..the school must give equal importance to various co-curricular activities..and encourage physical training and other activities..

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
India's education system is not perfect, although some changes would make it.
* There must be good schools and colleges in every village. * There must be excellent institutions in every state. * Efficient teachers should be chosen. * Reservations should not be there, so that deserving students do not have to repent for it. * There should be more of scholarship programmes. Thus, talents will be nurtured. Also, the poor people would get some help. * All equipments should be made available. All these measures should be taken by the government. But, schools, individually, too need to take some steps. * Teachers should encourage the students to do much more better instead of belittling their follies. * Teachers should not force the students to study. They should develop in them a love for studies. * There should be co-curricular activities too, in which they should be encouraged and not forced to participate. * Teachers should not scold or under-estimate the students. Any failure should notweaken the confidence. * Children should be given moral education. * Teachers should not encourage mugged-up studies. * Exams should not be made a fear factor. * The lectures should be made interesting. * Teachers should be friendly so that students can share their problems with them. * Teaching through models, visuals and experiments should be encouraged. * Teachers should teach in such a way that students can understand it and not merely study for exams. Schools should be such that the students studying there should enjoy studies instead of being treated as slaves. |

Re: Do you think India's Education System needs changes?
Indias education system needs lots of changes in it
First of all the reservation system in it should be removed. The admssion to all the institutes sholud be made merit based & not reservation based. Secondly we are studying outdated subjects.Subjects which connect to the practical world should be introduced in it. Third students extra curricular activiy should be given attention. Each student should be involved in some extra curricular activity compulsorily.Marks should be assigned for it. Theorotical papers should be reduced. Also flexibilty should be provided in choosing different subjects & teachers should be well trained so that nice teacher student interaction can take place. |
