Accounts and Audit of local Bodies is a new chapter which has been strategically developed for the Subordinate Accounts Service Examination held by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission every year. The core syllabus sets down the guidelines and instructions of what to study for the general understanding of auditing of local bodies. From the technical training assistance of PRIs to formation of database of finance at the local level, the syllabus has it all. The academic course defines the general concepts and conventions of accounting particularly useful in audit, important accounting principles and theories, codification structures, accounts chart and general accounting procedural structures. Computer training is also an important part of auditing as the program’s objective is to prepare the apprentices in handling technology for opening balance sheets, preparing databases, analysing accounts of income, expenditure, payment, cash flow, balance and draw general statements on accounting and financing for the local bodies.
