The Karnataka Public Service Commission was constituted on 18.05.1951 under the provisions of constitution of India. The aim of this commission is to recruit candidates to various civil services across the state. In case of such services the state either conducts a written theoretical examination or a personality test. The Geology paper or Karnataka Public Service is given by those who are interested in the post of Gazetted Probationers.

Total Time And Marks Allotted

The Geology paper of Karnataka Public Service Commission carries a total of 300 marks. All the questions of the paper are required to be answered in the time limit of 3 hours.

Paper Pattern

The paper has 4 parts. Part A is consists of questions to be answered with in 50 words.
Part B consists of questions to be answered with in 100 words each. This part is followed by part C of questions of 150 words each. Finally there is part D which has questions to be answered in about 300 words.

Division Of Marks And Options

Part A consists of 4 questions of 5 marks each followed by part B which has 10 questions of 10 marks each. Then there is part C consisting of 6 questions with each question carrying 15 marks. All the questions of these three groups are compulsory to be answered.

Part D consists of 5 questions each of 30 marks. However the student needs to answer only 3 out of these 5 questions.
