Providence Women’s College located at Calicut was established in the year 1952 on the 1st of July and initially the college was affiliated to University of Madras. After some years, the college came under the jurisdiction of University of Kerala and finally under Calicut University. The aim of the college is to attain excellence not only in the educational field, but also in extra-curricular activities.

Libraries at Providence Women’s College:

The main library at Providence Women’s College is fully computerized and it has a collection of more than 45000 books, more than 90 dailies, periodicals and journals. The main library is provided with the facility of reading room, which can accommodate 100 members at a time. In addition, each department in the college has its own library called as sectional library. There is another library called as textbook library, which offers book bank facility to the needy students.
