Admission to M.Sc course in Physics in Pune University is done through an entrance test. However, there is slight difference in the admission criteria of students who have completed their qualifying bachelor’s degree under Pune University itself. In their case, marks obtained in qualifying exam and entrance test will be counted equally for admission. Selection to students belonging to other Universities is offered solely on the basis of entrance exam. Out of the total of 90 seats available for M.Sc Physics, 30% is reserved for Pune University students.

Eligibility Criteria for Pune University M.Sc in Physics Entrance Exam

Aspirants who have completed their B.Sc degree from any of the recognized institution are eligible to attend the entrance test. The qualification must be in any of the following subjects or combination of the same.

• Physics
• Electronics
• Chemistry
• Mathematics

B.E/B.Tech degree holders (in any stream) from any of the UGC recognized institutions are also eligible. Students who are pursuing final year of their studies are also entitled to attend the test.

Exam Pattern of Pune University M.Sc in Physics Entrance Exam

Pune University M.Sc in Physics entrance exam is carried out as an objective model test. There will be a total of 100 questions that has to be completed with in a time duration of 3 hours. Questions for the entrance test will be based on topics studied at the graduation level.

Application Procedure of Pune University M.Sc in Physics Entrance Exam

Application form can be collected from the official web portal of Pune University. Downloaded application form must be filled up correctly and must be submitted to The Head, Department of Physics, Pune University. Fee for applying the entrance test is Rs. 500/- and this must be paid in the form of DD taken in favor of Register, University of Pune. The DD must be sent along with the duly filled application accompanied with a self-addressed envelope. Moreover, applications with necessary documents should reach the office of Pune University before closing date. The last day of submission would be the 3rd week of May every year.
