Punjab University M.Ed Entrance Exam 2012
Punjab University is one of the most reputed universities in India offering various courses for the aspirants. They are also offering various M.Ed regular and Correspondence courses. The duration of the courses is of two years. Punjab University conducts an entrance exam Punjab University M.ED Entrance Exam for the selection of eligible candidates for the M.Ed courses offered by various institutes under Punjab University. The institute under Punjab University offering high standard education to the students and it provide opportunity for large number of interested candidates to achieve an M.Ed degree.
Structure of Punjab University M.Ed Entrance Exam
The selection of the candidates for the M.Ed courses is determined on the basis of their performance in the written test. The entrance test questions are in an objective type format. The test consists of 75 multiple type questions. The time allotted for the exam is one and a half hours. For each questions will have four alternatives, the candidates have to pick the correct one from the choices and darken the appropriate bubble in the OMR answer sheet. The questions are mainly to evaluate the candidates’ basic knowledge in the papers they studied in their B.Ed course. Those who have attained the cut off marks in the entrance exam are eligible for getting admission for the M.Ed courses offered by Punjab University
Syllabus for Punjab University M.Ed Entrance Exam
The one and a half hours written test consists of questions from the B.Ed course curriculum. The questions of the tests are divided into five sections. The questions are expected from the following topics.
- Section 1: Philosophical and Sociological Basis of Education
- Section 2: The Learner – Nature and Development (Educational Psychology)
- Section 3: Teaching – Learning Process
- Section 4: School Management
- Section 5: Guidance & Counseling
Eligibility Criteria
The candidates have to fulfill certain eligibility requirements to apply for the M.Ed courses offered by various institutes of Punjab University. The candidates have to pass their B.Ed course with 50 % marks can apply for the test. The SC/ST/Ph candidates need only 50% of marks in their B.Ed exams. Those candidates have a two years experience in a Board of School Education recognized School as in service teachers are only eligible for applying for the M.Ed correspondence course. They have to be worked at the time of their admission process. The candidates have to attain 20% marks in the entrance exam for getting admission for the course.
How to Apply?
The application form is available from selected post offices in all parts of the country. The candidates can buy it from the post offices by the payment of the cost of the application form. The cost of the application form is Rs.1800/- for the general category students and Rs.900/- for the SC/ST/PH students. The candidates can obtain the application form in Registered Post by sending a request along with a Bank draft to the Manager, publication Bureau in Punjab University. The amount of the bank draft should be Rs.1900/- for the general candidates and Rs.1000/- for the SC/ST candidates.
How to fill the Form?
The form should be filled by following all the instructions given in the exam booklet. Any mistakes in the entered data may be cause for the rejection of the form and further the chance of the candidates for joining for the course. The application form is in the OMR sheet and it should be handled with care. The form should not be folded, tear or wrinkled. The filled form should reach the Office of Punjab University before the last date.

Last Date of receipt of application form (With late fee of Rs.1000/- (by hand only): Third Week of July, 2012
Date of Entrance Test: First Week of August, 2012
Result may be declared on: Third Week of August, 2012

Study Plan
Candidates have to prepare a study plan for scoring high marks in the exam. The candidates should have an aim of attaining maximum marks in the exam. The syllabus of the exam should be collected by the candidates and divide the whole topics into small sections. Try to cover each section within the given time frame according to the time table. The candidates have to revise the topics for remembering it. The candidates have to conduct self tests and evaluate their own performance. Try to make use of the services provided by various Coaching centers. The candidates have to collect the previous question papers and practice with the help of that. The candidates can score good marks in the exam by following the study plan.
How and Where To Get the Results?
The exam result will be published in the University website www.results.puchd.ac.in . The candidates can get their result from the website and also from the enquiry office of the University.
Score Validity
The entrance exam score is valid for one year. After the admission period new exam notification will be released.
