Union Bank of India, leading Public sector Bank with Head office in Mumbai is inviting application for Credit officer post. There are four hundred and fifty vacancies available for this post. Applicants need to submit application online.

Structure and Syllabus of Union Bank of India Officer’s Recruitment

Three stages will be included in the test. They are:

Written test

First one is a written test which is objective is in nature with a duration of one hundred and sixty five minutes. Questions and marks specified for each subject is given below.

  • Test of Reasoning – 50 questions with 50 marks
  • Test of Quantitative Aptitude-50 questions with 50 marks
  • Test of General Awareness with special reference to Banking Industry   -50 questions with 50 marks
  • Test of English Language-50 questions with 50 marks
  • Test of Computer Knowledge-50 questions with 50 marks

From the total 250 marks, candidate needs to score an aggregate of 40% in 200 marks to qualify the test.50 marks obtained from the Test of English Language is not considered for calculating the aggregate. Candidate needs only to pass the Test of English Language. For reserved category an aggregate of only 35% is needed to qualify. If a candidate gives wrong answer, 0.25 marks of that question will be deducted.

Group Discussion

50 marks are specified for Group Discussion. Candidate’s presentation skills, inter-personal qualities, team spirit, leadership qualities etc. will be evaluated through this. 50% marks is needed to qualify this stage. For reserved category it will be only 45%

Personal Interview

Fifty marks are specified for this stage. Candidate’s academic record, power of expression, qualities of leadership, extra curricular activities, behavior, clarity of thought, communication skills, suitability for the post, etc will be considered in this stage. Also hobbies, general demeanor will be some of the factors in decision making. Candidate need 50% marks to qualify this stage. Only 45% is needed for reserved category to qualify this stage.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate should be an Indian citizen. If not, candidate should possess the eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India. Candidate should be a graduate who have passed their graduation with 60%.For reserved category only 55% is needed for graduation. Candidates who have qualifications like C.A /I.C.W.A / C.S without graduation are eligible. Such candidate should pass the inter exam of that qualification within two attempts and the final exam within three attempts. Candidate needs to have done a course on Computer Awareness & Office Automation (In Computer Basics, DOS, Office, and Internet & E-Mail) with at least 60 hours duration or have studied Computer Awareness or Knowledge as a part their curriculum in graduation/post graduation.

Age limit specified is minimum 21 years and maximum 40 years. Relaxation of 5 years will be given for SC/ST candidates in upper age limit. For OBC candidates it will be three years. For PWD candidates it will be ten years. An extra 5 years will be given, if the PWD candidate belongs to SC/ST category and extra three years will be given if he/she belongs to OBC category.

How to Apply?

Applicant should take the print out of the recruitment notification with ‘RECRUITMENT APPLICATION FEE PAYMENT CHALLAN’ available on the website www.unionbankofindia.co.in. Recruitment notification can be obtained by opening the link “Careers” on the homepage of the Website. Recruitment application fee payment challan should be filled and submitted to any branch of Union Bank of India while paying the application fee. It should be filled in block letters. Application fee for general category and OBC will be Rs.300/- .For others it will be Rs.50/-.Applicants should collect their Counterfoil copy of Application fee payment for applying through online.

Applicant should visit recruitment notification again for applying online. Then go to the link “ON-LINE APPLICATION FOR OFFICERS 2011” and fill the specified details using the counterfoil copy. Then submit the filled application through online. Photocopy of this counterfoil copy should be kept by the candidate with the print out of the filled application form for attending personal interview. There will be facility for making any modification in the details specified in the form, if preferred by the candidate. After two days of registration it will be available for the applicants. Applicants are not allowed to make any modifications more than three times.

How to fill the Form?

While applying online scanned image of photograph and signature should be submitted by the applicants. Photograph should be recent color passport style picture with white background. It should be a clear picture with dimension 200 x 230 pixels. File size is preferable between 20kb and 50kb.Signature image should be obtained by signing on white paper with black ink. Applicants personally should put their signature. File size of the image should be between 10 kb and 20 kb. It should have dimension of 140 x 60 pixels. There will be link for uploading signature or photograph. Click on it and upload the file which has been saved for this purpose. Application forms should be filled with block letters. Make sure fee details are entered correctly. After completing application take its print out before submitting online.
