This university located in the town of Bilaspur, located in the state of Chhattisgarh in the heart of the Indian republic was founded in the 55th year of the Independent India i.e. 2002. but its got its nod from his excellence the governor of the Chhattisgarh on the historic date of 20th January 2005 under the gazette of the state. The governor in its act also declared the then vice chancellor and registrar of the university. This university is one of the most popular universities of the state and hence quite prestigious with regard to the academics and the overall development of the students.

The university boasts a number of courses under its prestigious departments and faculties. The university offers courses like B.P.P., Diplomas in the fields of computer application, Yoga, Jyotisha and vaastushastra, ayurvedic knowledge, herbal medicine; B.A., B.Sc, B.Comm, BCA, B.Lib, MA in different areas like history, political science, sociology, hindi, English, Sanskrit and economics. The university also includes the teaching course of Bed and a special BSc and MSc course in the field of mathematics.

The university works on the basic pattern of student evaluation and semester exams as followed up by the AICTE and the UGC. The marking of the students is done throughout the study period by the regular assignments, tutorials, practical and other assessments programs. Besides these things the student also is made to clear the end term exams for all the core subjects studied in its particular course.
