Dayanand Medical College & Hospital was formed in the year 1964 and it is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. Even though, the college was formed in the year 1964, it should be said that it was actually formed in the year 1934 from the history of the college. The college was actually formed in the year 1934 in the name of Arya Medical School. The college is recognized by the Medical Council of India for the MBBS course offered by it and for different super-specialty and specialty courses offered.

Facilities:
Dayanand Medical College and Hospital is the only institution that has reserved an entire floor for ICUs with more than 90 beds in the whole of North India. The college includes some of the notable Intensive Care Units like Burn ICU, stroke unit, neurosurgery ICU, surgery ICU, pediatric ICU, etc…The college is also offering residential facilities for training the interns and students under the department of community medicine.
Admission:
The college is admitting students to the MBBS courses on the basis of their performance in the Punjab Medical Entrance Test conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. Of the total number of seats in the college, 85% of the seats are reserved for Punjab students, while the remaining 15% alone is for students from other states.
