North Eastern Railway (NER) was formed on 14th April 1952. It was divided into two Railway Zones in 1958 and was re-organized in 2002. NER now consists of three Divisions - Varanasi, Lucknow & Izatnagar. NER primarily serves the areas of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarkhand & western districts of Bihar. NER owns the pride of introducing the first computerized passenger reservation system on 1986. It provides interactive voice responsive system, Electronic display systems at stations, Recorded coach guidance display system, and Reservation availability position information display.

North Eastern Railway invites applications from eligible Ex-servicemen for Trackman/Gangman posts.

Pay Scale- Rs. 5200-20200 with GP of Rs. 1800
Eligibility:
Age Criteria (as on 01.01.2011) - 33 yrs + extent of military service + 3 yrs (UR candidates)
38 yrs + extent of military service + 3 yrs (SC/ST candidates)
36 yrs + extent of military service + 3 yrs (OBC candidates)
Qualification- Ex-Serviceman who has retired after 15 years of service.
Must have passed Army class-1 certificate or equivalent.
Selection Process:
Selection for the post is based on merit, experience and verification of original documents. No written examination/interview or physical efficiency test. Only eligible candidates will be called for verification of original documents.
