Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University
Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (formerly known as Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University) was established in the year 1964 to serve as a seat of learning and scholarship and also to shoulder a major responsibility for securing the economic development and improvement of the status of the rural people in the state of Andhra Pradesh through education, research and extension programmes. The aim of the university is to train human resource needed for agricultural, home Science and allied sectors for the development of the State of Andhra Pradesh. And it is constantly striving to generate technologies for increasing production in the agriculture and home science and its other allied sectors.
The university also assists in the process of transfer of technology through the dissemination of knowledge in collaboration with the Development Departments of the Government.
There are 9 colleges (6 Agricultural College BPT R’Nagar Naira, 2 Home Science, 1 Agricultural Engineering), 10 Polytechnics (8 Agricultural and 1 Horticulture Science & 1 Multi purpose) that fall under Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University.
The University has been very succesful in living up to the expectations to train manpower, who are confident and technically strong to generate location specific technologies in the fields of agriculture, veterinary and home science. Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) has earned a reputation as a leading State Agricultural University in the country serving to the needs of the farmers and the line departments in the state.
The academic programmes provided by the university are applicable for both Indian students and foreign students. The programme includes PG Thesis, Under Graduate Program, Post Graduate Program, PhD, Polytechnics.
