Dena Bank was founded on May 26, 1938 under the Government of India. The bank is also known as one of the earliest banks in India. The headquarter of the bank is situated in Mumbai. Initially, the name of the bank was Devkaran Nanjee Banking Company Limited after its founders, Devkaran Najee. But later it was renamed to Dena Bank limited in the December 199 after it became a public company. Dena Bank Limited was also nationalised alongwith the other 13 banks in India as a result of which the “Ltd.” was dropped from its name. The bank is best known for its excellent banking facilities.
