Engineering has numerous branches and Acoustical Engineering is one of them. It is mostly referred as the science of vibration and resonance. The job of an acoustical engineer is to manipulate and control sounds. Acoustical engineering has different branches. Its implications are into different fields like military, arts and music and architecture.

  • Acoustic Performance of Building Measure & Certification

This is architecture related course offered by the Sahyadri Engineering Academy, India. This certification enables the student to gain a fundamental knowledge about acoustic in construction. It also helps the student to manage their performance in the construction phase and design phase in acoustics. After the completion of this course, candidates will be able to find jobs as acoustic inspectors in construction sites. Another key feature of this course is that it equips the candidate to be aware of the legal problems that are related to the acoustic requirements and prescriptions.

  • M.Tech in Audio Engineering

This a similar course offered in the field of acoustics in India. There are many universities abroad offering PG level courses in acoustical engineering. In India, a candidate can pursue M.Tech in audio engineering at School of Audio Engineering (SAE) Technology College. This course for audio engineering is for generally 2 years.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates who are joining this course must have finished their graduation in a related course from a recognized university or institute.

According to the area of expertise, students will get excellent career opportunities in their relevant fields. Candidates who have completed m. tech in acoustical engineering can enter into the military or defense field. Those who specialize in audio and sound engineering can find jobs with the media fields like advertisement, music related jobs, website development etc. Diploma courses for acoustical engineering in the architectural field will also provide career opportunities for students.  People who finish their M.Tech courses abroad can get jobs in military and defense. Job prospects for B.Tech holders can be found with electronic companies like Videocon, Samsung and Sony etc. The remuneration of the candidates will depend on the field they are working.     I want to know that whether colleges conduct entrance examinations or i have to prepare for AIEEE etc.
