Goa College of Pharmacy, Panaji
Goa College of Pharmacy was actually established in the year 1842 with the name of Escola Medica De Goa, during the Portuguese rule. Later in the year 1963, after Goa’s liberation, the institution was given a new name as Goa College of Pharmacy and it was shifted to its present campus. Initially, the college was offering degree course alone in pharmacy under the Bombay University and later in the year 1970, it began to offer postgraduate degree courses in pharmacy under the same university. Later, the college came under the jurisdiction of Goa University, the AICTE and the PCI has also approved the college.
Courses offered with number of seats:
Goa College of Pharmacy is offering the following courses under the faculty of pharmacy and also the number of seats available in the college for each course is given below:
• Diploma in Pharmacy – 60 seats
• Bachelor of Pharmacy – 60 seats
• Master of Pharmacy (Quality Assurance) – 13 seats
• Master of Pharmacy (Pharmacology) – 5 seats
Admission Process:
For the diploma course offered by the college, admission is done by the Directorate of Technical Education under the guidance of the central admission committee in Goa. Admission is made to the degree course based on marks secured by the students in the Goa Common Entrance Test. For the postgraduate degree courses in pharmacy, admission is done on merit basis.
Eligibility Criteria:
For getting admission to the diploma course offered by the college, candidates must have completed their higher secondary in science stream with English, biology/mathematics, chemistry and physics and for degree course, they must have secured a minimum of 50% of marks in the aforesaid subjects. For PG courses, candidates must have completed their bachelor’s degree in pharmacy with a minimum of 55% of marks from Goa University.

The college has several facilities like separate administrative block, library, well-equipped labs, common room for ladies, common room for staff, conference hall, seminar hall, examination hall, spacious classrooms, etc…
