Sri Krishnadevaraya University was established in the year 1968 and initially it began to function as a centre for offering post graduation education under Sri Venkateswara University. It received university status in the year 1981 and it became an affiliating university in the year 1987. The university is contributing towards higher education through its affiliated colleges and more than 100 colleges are acting as the affiliated colleges of the university out of which seven colleges are meant exclusively for women students. Several colleges offering education under engineering faculty, law faculty, education faculty, etc… are coming under this university. The university is offering courses at UG, PG and Ph.
