Junior Engineer (Electrical/Civil and Mechanical), Staff Selection Commission
Profile:
Subordinate Services Commission was re-designated as Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on 26th September, 1977. Making recruitment to Group C and Group B posts in departments of Government of India is the main responsibility of SSC. Nine regional/sub-regional offices located at different states of India consitutes the network of Staff Selection Commission. A Chairmen assisted by two members and a secretary or controller of Examination, heads the commission. The commission can also advise the Government of India about the method and mode of recruitment.
Job Profile:
Staff Selection Commission is making recruitment of eligible candidates on all India basis for the post of Junior Engineers. Candidates selected on the post of Junior Engineers (Civil & Mechanical) in Central Water Commission and candidates selected on the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) in Department of Posts.
Eligibility:
18 years is the minimum age limit set for both the posts and 27 years is the maximum age limit set. Candidates should not be less than 18 years and not more 27 years otherwise he/she would not be considered eligible for any of the post. However, there is relexation of few years in age is available for the candidates who belongs to the reserved category.
Educational Qualification:
Diploma in the stream of either Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil & Mechanical). Diploma in Electrical engineering is required as the minimum educational qualification set for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical). Experienced candidates are preferebale over un-experienced candidates.
No. of posts:
Junior Engineer (Civil & Mechanical): 142 posts (Civil-99 and Mechanical-43).
Junior Engineer (Electrical): 18 posts.
Pay Scale: all selected candidates will be paid under the same pay scale i.e. PB-3. Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400 is to be paid as salary to the candidates.
Application Fee:
Rs. 100 is the application fee that is required to be paid by the General category candidates. No fee is required from SC/ST/PH/Ex-Serviceman or Women candidates. The application fee is to be paid by the candidates in the form of a Central Recruitment Fee Stamp.
Selection Process:
Selections of the eligible candidates will be made strictly as per the result of the personal interview session with the selection committee. Only selected candidates will be called for the interview test. Candidates should prepare well for this personal interview test.
