St.Joseph College of Engineering was established in 1994 and was built for giving high priority for imparting technical education for the students of Tamilnadu. This institution was part of the Jeppiaar Educational Trust and has been announced as the Christian Minority Institution by the authenticated authorities. The mission of this college is to impart high morals and quality education for its students, to make them achieve excellent academic knowledge in various fields of discipline, to develop the overall personality of the candidates here.

Admission is based on the merit of marks obtained in higher secondary and scores obtained in Tamilnadu Engineering Admissions.

Campus and Facilities:

The college covers a whooping 12, 15,000 square feet. The class rooms are fully air-conditioned and meet the world class institutions in infrastructure. The facilities include a big library consisting of more than 30 thousand volumes of books and a book bank consisting of huge collection of books more than a lakh. That apart, computer center, laboratories and workshops for each department, a huge conference hall, visitors lounge, and a bank with ATM facility, a dispensary for treating sick students are available inside the campus.  Apart from this, separate hostel facilities are offered for boys and girls.

Placement and Training:

The college has a training cell for imparting socialization skills for all its students. It has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with leading Companies like Cognizant, Infosys, HDFC Bank, and Virtusa.
