Basaveshwar Engineering College was founded in 1963 by B.V.V.Sangha in Bangalore. It is currently functioning as Government aided institute and the courses offered here are affiliated to Visveswaraiah Technological University (VTU) Belgaum. The college is approved by the AICTE. At present the college offers 10 UG degrees and 5 PG degrees in the discipline of engineering.

The campus of this institute extends up to 100 hectares and is free from hassle situated in the Bagalkot town in a serene atmosphere. The college holds vast collection of books in its central library and other departmental library. It offers hostel facility, staff quarters for the faculty inside the campus.

Eligibility & Admission:

The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum 45% of marks in the main subjects are eligible for applying for entrance exam. All the candidates should appear for common entrance examination conducted by Karnataka State and the admission is based on the academic record and the entrance test marks. The process of admission is rooted through the Director of Technical Education, Bangalore.

The placement record of the overall percentage of the students is increasing each year.
