Kings Engineering College was established in 2001 and is a Minority self financing institution. The Rajammal Duraisamy Educational and Health trust founded this college and the institution is managed by the Rajam Group of Companies. All the courses offered in this college are affiliated with Anna University, Chennai and this college has been recognized by the AICTE, New Delhi.

Over a decade, the total strength of this college has increased to 1200 with more than 100 trained faculties. The chief objective of this trust is to improve the social and technological status of the younger generation by imparting high quality engineering programs. The vision of this college is upbringing this institution as a center for Excellence for higher education with total quality management.

Courses offered:

At present the college offers only B.E. in the following disciplines:-

B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

B.E. in Computer Science

B.E. in Information Technology

B.E. in Electronics & Communications

Eligibility:

The candidates who wish to get admission in this college must have obtained minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in higher secondary level. For reserved category students, percentage of mark is relaxed.

(For B.C. 50%, For MBC/DNC 45% and for SC/ST mere pass)

All the candidates should have taken Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as their subjects at 10 +2 level.

Admission:

The mode of admission is regulated by the norms of the Anna University and Department of Technical Education.

Lateral entry option of joining Second year course is available for the students who have completed Diploma in the respective discipline which has been recognized by the State Board of Technical Education or the Anna University.

Facilities:

The college is built at Sriperumbudur which is in Chennai Bangalore Highway located centrally in a serene atmosphere away from the hassles of the city. The class rooms are spacious, ventilated and surrounded by gardens.

The library contains more than 8,000 volumes of books and 28 journals of Indian origin. Internet, e-journal facility and photo copying facility are also offered in this library.

Separate hostel facility is available inside the campus for boys and girls with necessary amenities. The hostel is accomplished with high power generator for balancing power cut problems.
