The Maharashtra MCA common entrance test is conducted for candidates aspiring admission into MCA course. The university provides AICTE approved regular MCA program for the candidates who clear this entrance exam. Bachelor degree from the recognized institute or board is a must. Mathematics should be one of the subjects in 12th standard or bachelor degree. The candidate should have minimum of 50% marks in their bachelor degree. The exam is conducted in the first week of March. Those who are in the final degree can also apply for this test.

Structure of the MAH MCA-CET

The Maharashtra MCA Entrance test consists of two papers which are General aptitude and Computer concepts. This paper has objective type questions. They will be of multiple choices type. The duration of this paper is one hour.

Syllabus of the MAH MCA-CET

The General aptitude paper is to assess the general knowledge of the candidates. This paper covers High school mathematics

• Logical & Quantitative Reasoning
• English comprehension
• Vocabulary & Verbal Ability

They should know Algebra, Differential Equations, Arithmetic, Probability and statistics and Basic set theory. Other than that coordinate Geometry, Trigonometry, Functions and Mensuration are also a must.

The computer concept paper is designed to check the candidate’s knowledge on computer skills. This paper will cover computer basics, computer architecture, data representation, computer language and operating system basics. They have to study about CPU, input output devices, memory organization and backup devices. In operating system subject, they should know about timesharing and multiprogramming operating system. They should know about representation of integers, fractions, binary and hexadecimal representation. Also they need to know Boolean algebra, Venn diagrams, basic arithmetic operations and truth tables. Furthermore, they must study about block structure of computers, Assembly language and high level language, interrupts, communication between processor and I/O devices.
