Eligibility for seeking admission to B. Sc Home Science:

For seeking admission to the Bachelor of Home Science course in government colleges, candidates must have completed their 10+2. Even though, some colleges admit only students from science stream at their 10+2 level, some colleges admit students belonging to any discipline of study like commerce and arts. Even some colleges require that candidates must get through the entrance examination for admission to B. Sc Home Science course.

Higher studies after B. Sc Home Science:

On completion of the Bachelor’s degree in home science, candidates can take up their Master’s degree course in home science or Post Graduate Diploma in Home Science as well.

Job prospects on completion of Bachelor’s degree in Home Science:

Home Science graduates can find job opportunities in a number of industries like specialized cooking, dress-making, food preservation, hotels, fashion designing, textile business, etc… These graduates are selected by organizations to take over some special projects with the intention of educating people belonging to different sections of the society like villagers, farmers, mothers, etc… on the value of food and some specific good items that is related to their organization. They are also employed in house-keeping departments in organizations like restaurants, catering, hotels, resorts, etc… Even these graduates can go for teaching jobs in primary schools.
