Bank of India was founded in the year 1906 by a group of eminent businessman from Mumbai. The bank was nationalised alongwith the other banks after the year 1969. Initially, the bank started off with only one office in Mumbai. There are approximatley 3000 branches of the bank spreaded in the various cities of different states in India. There are 141 specialised branches of the bank and all these branches are controlled by 48 Zonal offices. The bank also have 29 branches located in abroad as well. The bank had above 2 lakhs shareholder at the end of the year 2009.

Job Profile:

Bank of India is making recruitment of eligibel and qualified indian citizens on the positions of General Banking Officers in SMG Scale IV and SMG Scale V. The vacancies are being filled in by the bank under the Recruitment Project No. 2011-12/1. Some posts are also reserved for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories. There are no reservation for the Persons with Disability.

Eligibility:

For the post of General Banking Officer SMG Scale-IV, candidates are required to be atleast 31 years old as on 31 March 2011. However, their age should not exceed 40 years which has been set as the maximum age limit for the specified post.

For the post of General Banking Officer SMG Scale-V, candidates are required to be atleast 35 years old as on 31 March 2011. However, their age should not exceed 45 years which has been set as the maximum age limit for the specified post.

Educational Qualification:

General Banking Officer Scale-IV: Candidates are required to have done Graduation from any reognized university with atleast 50% marks in aggregate. Minimum 10 years of experience in officer’s cadre in PSB is required for the post.

General Banking Officer Scale-V: Candidates are required to have done Graduation from any reognized university with atleast 50% marks in aggregate. Minimum 15 years of experience in officer’s cadre in PSB is required for the post.

No. of posts: Total 125 posts are available.

General Banking Officer Scale-IV: 100 posts are available.
(Gen-50, SC-15, ST-8 and OBC-27).

General Banking Officer Scale-V: 25 posts are available.
(Gen-13, SC-4, ST-2 and OBC-6).

Pay Scale:

General Banking Officer Scale-IV: Consolidated salary of Rs. 30600-36200 per month.
General Banking Officer Scale-V: Consolidated salary of Rs. 36200-40400 per month.

Application Fee:

Submission of an application fee of Rs. 500 is must by General and OBC categories candidates. No fee is to be paid by SC/ST categories candidates. Application fee is need to be submitted in cash through the means of a payment challan. Payment Challan can be easily downloaded from the website of the bank.

Selection Process:

Only successful candidates of the competitive written test will be called for the personal interview test. Candidates should secure the minimum qualifying marks stipulated for written tests, for becoming eligible for the personal interview test. The final selection will be made on the basis of the merit list after the completion of whole selection process.
