The Central Silk Board is operating under the Ministry of Textiles of Government of India and the board was established with the mandate of promoting the development of silk industry in India. The board is engaged in a wide range of activities like research & development, training, seed production and consultancy. Central Silk Board, Bangalore has called for applications from eligible candidates for the position of Scientist B. Some of the details regarding this recruitment notification are given below:
Name of the Position: Scientist B
Number of Vacancies: 55
Pay Band: PB-3, 15600-39100+ Grade Pay of Rs. 5400
Reservation of Vacancies:
The total number of 55 vacancies is divided as 9 for SC, 4 for ST, 13 for OBC, 1 for O.H, 1 for P.H and 27 for unreserved category.
Eligibility:
Educational Qualification: Candidates must be Master’s degree holders from a recognized university in any of the subjects like sericulture, chemistry, agronomy, agriculture, entomology, botany or zoology and they must have secured a minimum of 55% of marks in any of the aforesaid degree courses.
Age: The maximum age limit of candidates is not more than 40 years. This upper age limit can be relaxed for PWD/OBC/ST/SC or candidates who are working as government servants.
Experience: Candidates must have five years of research experience as shown by research publications in reputed journals. Candidates are expected to have research experience in any of the following fields: insect science, sericulture, endocrinology, insect physiology, genetics/insect breeding, insect pathology, agricultural statistics, plant breeding/genetics, microbiology, plant physiology, plant pathology, molecular biology, plant tissue culture, Bio-technology, immunology, agricultural extension, agriculture entomology, agronomy & soil science, agricultural economics & management.
