Profile:
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) after being formed in 1974, primarily concentrates to collect, collate and disseminate technical and statistical data relating to water pollution. The other functions of CPCB are to control and abatement of water pollution, to improve the quality of air and to avert, manage or decrease air pollution, and to encourage hygiene of wells and streams in India. Some of the national level functions of CPCB are to advise the Central Government on matters related to prevention and control of water and air pollution and improvement of the quality of air; planning a nation-wide program for the prevention, control or abatement of water and air pollution; Planning and organizing training of persons engaged in programme on the prevention, control or abatement of water and air pollution; and co-ordinate the activities of the State Board and resolve disputes among them.
Job Profile:
Central Pollution control Board (CPCB) invites application for the post of Scientists (B, C, D, E) and Junior Scientific Assistant.
No. of posts – Total number of posts is 26, which is split as follows: Scientist B - 12; Scientist C - 4; Scientist D - 4; Scientist E - 3; Junior Scientific Assistant - 3
