All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) Exam Pattern
The All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) is carried out by the Veterinary Council of India for the admittance of eligible students into the 1st year of B.V.Sc. & A.H. courses that are offered in numerous veterinary colleges of the private and public sectors. Students who have finished their class 12 in the science discipline with more than 50 percent marks are eligible to apply for this national level entrance examination.
It can be said that the All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) is an important examination for those students who aspire to join the B.V.Sc courses. Almost 15% seats in Veterinary Colleges managed by the State Governments, Municipal Authorities of India or the Union Government are filled by means of this examination.
The All India Pre-Veterinary Test is carried out every year. Students who clear this examination will be provided admission to any of the top veterinary colleges in the country. Those students who clear the exam with good marks shall be short listed on the basis of their marks obtained in the All India Pre-Veterinary admission test (AIPVT).
More details about the pattern of the All India Pre Veterinary Test (AIPVT) are as follows:
In cases where 2 or more aspirants obtain equal marks in the admission test, the selection of these applicants will be determined in order of the preference given below. The details are:
- Applicants who get the highest marks in Biology
- Applicants who get the highest marks in Chemistry
- Applicants who get the highest marks in Physics
- Those candidates who are older when opposed to the other shall be favored.
Syllabus for All India Pre-Veterinary Tests (AIPVT)
The All India Pre Veterinary Test (AIPVT) will follow the syllabus similar to that of classes XI and XII of the CBSE Board. Students who have studied in an equivalent board are eligible to apply for the exam. No particular syllabus is prescribed by the Council for this national level entrance examination.
Question Pattern of All India Pre-Veterinary Tests (AIPVT)
The total time limit provided to the students for the All India Pre-Veterinary Test is 3 hours. 200 questions with 4 multiple options each shall be asked in this paper. Questions will be asked from the following topics:
- Biology-80 questions
- Chemistry-60 questions
- Physics-60 questions
For every correct response provided by the aspirants, 3 marks shall be given and 1 mark will be deducted as negative marking for wrong answers. The All India Pre-Veterinary admission test (AIPVT) will have a syllabus similar to that of the CBSE class 10+1 and 10+2.
