Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat
Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat came into existence in the year 1964 and the institution holds the pride of being one of the oldest institutions in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The college was initially functioning in a different building and it was shifted to its present building in the year 1967, which is located at a distance of about three kms from the town of Pasighat.
The college began its operations with just 42 students and 8 faculty members, while its present student-strength has reached nearly 2000 and at present, there are about 60 lecturers in the institution.

Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat offers the following:
• Bachelor of Arts (Honors & Pass)
• Bachelor of Science (Honors & Pass)
• Bachelor of Commerce (Honors & Pass)
The honors course is offered in different subjects like commerce, chemistry, physics, mathematics, zoology, botany, Hindi, economics, education, geography, political science, history and English under arts, science and commerce streams.
Eligibility requirement:
The honors course is offered only during the second and third year of the afore-said degree courses. For seeking admission to the first year of the Bachelor of Arts course offered by Jawaharlal Nehru College, candidates must have Passed AISSCE (10+2) or any other equivalent examination with not less than 40% of aggregate marks with a pass in English as a compulsory subject. For seeking admission to the first year of B. Sc course, they must have secured not less than 45% of aggregate marks in higher secondary examination with English and chemistry as compulsory subjects. For B. Com first year, candidates must have completed their higher secondary in any stream of education with minimum 40% of aggregate marks.
For seeking admission to the second year and third year of these courses, candidates must have completed their corresponding lower level class from the Rajiv Gandhi University to which the college is affiliated.
Eligibility for getting into honors course in the second year:
For getting into honors degree in a particular course after completion of first year pass degree, candidates must have completed their first year with 45% of marks (50% of marks for students belonging to other states) in practical and theory papers separately, which is 40% in the first year B. Com general for B. Com second year honors admission. After completion of the first year, students seeking admission to the honors course in the second year will have to apply again in prescribed format with copy of mark sheet of the first year course clearly specifying their preference subject. Since the number of seats for honors course is limited, students will have to get through the honors selection test and selection of candidates will be made on merit basis. The test will have questions from the first year syllabus.
