The district of East Siang was named after the might river Siang, which is originating from Tibet and it is an administrative district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Jawaharlal Nehru College is located in the city of Pasighat in the East Siang District and the institute came into existence in the year 1964, it is a B++ institution offers UG courses in the faculties of arts, science and commerce. The college offers arts, science and commerce courses both under honors and pass scheme with affiliation from the Rajiv Gandhi University. For getting into the Bachelor of Arts and commerce courses offered by the college, candidates must have completed their AISSCE (10+2) or equivalent examination with not less than 40% of aggregate marks and for both these courses, English must be studied as a compulsory subject at the higher secondary level. For admission to the B. Sc course, candidates must have studied science subjects at the higher secondary level with a score of at least 45% and they should have studied and passed English and Chemistry is compulsory subjects at the higher secondary science stream.
