Sir, i m pursuing my degree 3rd year course on political science at jawaharlal Nehru University ,Pasighat ,Arunachal Pradesh.The sylaabus of political science here is very different from the syllabus of jawaharlal nehru university,delhi.so,kindly provide me the books of political science so that i can pursue my MA on that renowned University.thnkz

if you are willing to pursue m.a in poltical science with specialisation in international relations,it is imperative that you first procure the 10 year question papers from the central library of jnu(1 floor).They will give you an insight into the kind of questions asked .Secondly questions asked in ir paper will span all subjects of the 3 year course of ba pol science.i'm listing a few important books to be read and their corresponding subjects...
1.oxford companion to politics in india-a must have for jnu aspirants seeking admission to pol science in cps and sis!!!!!!most important book
2.j.n dixit-indian foreign polcicy-looks into india's foreign polciy and its relations with other countries like us,russia,china,pakistan,south asian neigbours,eu,asean,saarc etc...any good book on indian foreign policy is good...if u want light books vn khanna or vp dutt are good enough
3.atul kohli-success of indian democracy-a must have,looks into indian poltics n deals with mostly the second year subject of indian government and poltics(igp)
4.zoya hasan-poltics and state in india-for indian poltics
5.zoya hasan-parties and party poltics in india-for stdying party structure
6.andrew heywood-key concept in politics or political ideologies-an excellent read for understanding poltical concepts ideologies and the subject of poltical theory(1 year subject-pol theory)..must have...
7.waypor-western poltical thinkers.....now this is an important book for analysing western poltical thinkers..now let me tell you some key thinkers...hobbes,locke,rousseau(social contractarians),rawls and his theory of justice,plato and aristotles's thoery and comparison of state,machiavelli on statescraft,as a modern thinker,and his views on religion politics and ehtics,marx and engels(all of marx's concept are important),feminist thinkers as carole pateman and mary wollstonecraft....this is practically the syllabus of western poltical philosophy a third year subject of pol science..also known as wpt...now for wpt u can refer to sushila ramaswamy and subroto mukherjee,plamentaz,bn ray etc
8.indian poltical thinkers...now here theres a catch for jnu mostly gandhi,nehru and anbedkar are most important but this year here was a question on kautilya's saptang theory...therefore the most interesting book is vr mehta and vp verma...these are the most sought after books...also focus on gandhis's idea of modernity and participatory democracy.these are the main thinkers-nehru,ambedkar and gandhi
9.now for the most important part -ir-u require globalisation of world politcs that is the most important...also kegley and witkoff is a good book
