Government Saitual College came into existence in the year 1984 and the college is offering education with affiliation from the Mizoram University. The college was provincialised in the year 2007 and it became a state-owned college. It is approved by the NAAC and it is working with the objective of empowerment of rural youth.

Courses offered:

Government Saitual College offers UG degree courses through the following departments functioning under its control:

• Geography

• Economics

• Education

• History

• Political science

• Mizo

• English

In addition to these courses, Government Saitual College also offers some UGC sponsored tutorial courses like Hindi Coaching, remedial classes and coaching class for entry into service for SC/ST candidates.

Selection Procedure:

Normally, selection of candidates to the different courses offered by the Government Saitual College is done based on the past merit of students and if required selection can be made in consultation with the concerned teacher through interview.

Concession:

Government Saitual College offers fee concession to students, who:

• Have passed their 2nd division or above in the previous board/university examination

• Have acquired sports medals either at the district/state or at the national level

How to apply:

Candidates can get the prospectus and application form from the office of the college on payment of application fee and duly-filled in application along with the following documents should be submitted by the candidates before the last date to participate in the admission process:

• Duly attested Xerox copies of previous examination mark sheets from a gazetted officer

• Certificate from the principal/head of the last attended institution

• In the case of students coming from other states outside the jurisdiction of Mizoram University, migration certificate should be attached

• Two copies of recent passport size photos

IGNOU Study centre:

Government Saitual College not only offers the aforesaid courses with affiliation from Mizoram University, it offers several other courses by acting as a study centre of IGNOU University and those courses are:
