Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi introduced the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board on its 50th Anniversary year for the purpose of recruiting highly-skilled, competent and capable individuals by conducting personal interviews, professional tests and written tests wherever required. Therefore, the board is committed to develop recruitment and selection procedures that equals to global standards.

Recruitment by Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board:

Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board has called for applications from eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Teacher and the details regarding the notification issued by the Board in this regard are given below:

Name of the Position: Assistant Teacher (Post Code: 70/09)

Number of positions: Total number of vacancies is 6500, divided among different categories of candidates as follows:

• UR - 2910

• OBC - 1584

• SC - 1066

• ST - 940

Of the total number of vacancies, 78 vacancies is reserved for OH candidates, 122 for VH candidates and 1182 for EXSM candidates.

Eligibility Conditions:

Education: candidates must have completed their intermediate or 10+2 of senior secondary examination from a recognized board/university or any other equivalent qualification. They must have completed two-year certificate or diploma course in ETE/JBT or equivalent or B.El.Ed from a recognized institution. They must have studied Hindi as subject at the secondary level and must have passed English as a subject at the senior secondary or secondary level education.

Age limit: Candidates must not be more than 30 years of age, which is relaxable by five years for SC/ST candidates, three years for OBC candidates and 10 years for PH candidates. In the case of central government employees, an upper age relaxation of five years is offered according to the instruction issued by the central government.

Application fee:

Application fee of Rs.100 should be paid in the form of crossed Indian postal order drawn in favor of the secretary, DSSSB payable at Krishna Nagar Head Post Office, Delhi. Candidates belonging to PH/ST/SC category are exempted from payment of application fee.

Selection procedure:

For selection candidates for the position of Assistant Teacher, DSSSB will conduct a combined preliminary objective type exam, which is the part-I exam for a duration of one hour. Part-II exam is the main examination with descriptive type questions to be conducted for a duration of two hours. In addition to these tests, there will a testing duration of three hours in one go.

How to apply:

Candidates fulfilling the eligibility requirements, will have to apply as per the format given in section D of the advertisement, which can be downloaded from the website of the board at www.dsssb.delhigovt.nic.in. After duly filling in the application, candidates will have to submit it along with DD and other documents to the reception of the board between 16th of September and 17th of October 2011 on all working days except public holidays/gazette holidays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
