K..L.E. Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences as the name suggests is being run by the KLE Society and the institute was established with the objective of becoming a centre of educational excellence and research in the nation. The institute also aims at achieving high level of nursing practice and quality nursing in the global community.

Courses offered:

K.L.E. Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences offers the following courses in the field of nursing with affiliation from the KLE University:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Basic)

Post Basic Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Master of Science in Nursing (with specialization in)

o Mental Health Nursing

o Child Health Nursing

o Community Health Nursing

o Obstetrics & Gynecological Nursing

o Medical Surgical Nursing

Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing

Course duration and intake capacity:

The B. Sc Nursing course extends to a period of four years with an intake capacity of 100 students per year. The P.B. B. Sc Nursing course is for two-year duration with an intake capacity of 25 students per year. On the other hand, for M. Sc in Nursing, K.L.E. Society’s Institute of Nursing is approved with an intake capacity of 25 students in total (i.e.) five students per year for each specialty.

Eligibility requirement:

The eligibility requirement for seeking admission to each of the course offered by the Institute is given below:

B. Sc (N) Basic:

Candidates must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or should attain this age before the 31st December of the year in which they are seeking admission. They should have passed class XII examination at any state board as approved by the KLES University with not less than 45% of aggregate marks in English, Biology, Chemistry and physics subjects.

P.B.B. Sc (N):

Candidates should have completed three-year diploma course in GNM from a recognized institution and they should be a registered nurses.

M. Sc (N):

For seeking admission to this course, candidates must have completed four-year B. Sc Nursing course of Post Certificate in B. Sc Nursing course with one year of experience from a recognized university securing not less than 55% of aggregate marks in the qualifying examination. For this course also, candidates must be registered nurses.

Ph. D in Nursing:

For Ph. D in nursing admission, candidates must have completed their M. Sc Nursing in any specialty and they must be registered nurses.

For all the above-mentioned courses, candidates applying from states other than Karnataka and Foreign Nationals and NRI candidates should obtain eligibility certificate from the KLES University located in Belgaum.
